How do I upload the translated student ID? #209597
🏷️ Discussion TypeQuestion 💬 Feature/Topic AreaVerification Help & Guidance Hi everyone,I'm a student from mainland China, and all the text on my student ID is written in Chinese. However, GitHub's education verification only allows me to shot photos, so I can't submit my translated copy, which means I can't pass the verification. What should I do? |

Put your translation in the same photo as your ID, so the camera captures both at once. If that doesn't work, a bilingual enrollment certificate is the easiest fix |

i ran into this exact issue with non-english documents! since github forces the live camera, here's how to get around it: put a translation next to it: write down the english translations for your name, uni name, and date on a piece of paper. lay it right next to your physical student id and take the picture so both are in the frame together. match your profile name: make sure your github profile name uses the exact pinyin matching your id. turn off your vpn: github checks your IP location against your uni's location, so a vpn will get you auto-rejected. try submitting while on your campus network if you can. make sure the stamp is clear: double check that the current semester stamp or date is super clear in the photo. as long as the translation paper is right next to the id and the stamp is clear, it should go through fine! |
