Student Pack rejected 4 times while enrolled — course now completed, still eligible? #209818
🏷️ Discussion TypeQuestion 💬 Feature/Topic AreaVerification Help & Guidance Hi everyone,I applied for the Student Developer Pack several times between April and October 2026. During that time I was enrolled in a Master in Computer Science (E-Learning) at Lithan Academy, Singapore (Oct 2025 – May 2026). My applications were rejected for technical reasons (2FA, name format, and the document not clearly showing the school name or date). I have now fixed my 2FA, profile name and billing name. My course has since finished and I'm waiting for my official certificate. I have a letter from Lithan Academy dated September 2026 confirming my enrolment dates. Could a staff member please let me know:
Thank you for your help! |

Hi Edmund, Based on what you described, I’d separate the eligibility question from the document-verification question. Since your enrollment period was April/May 2026 and you can provide an official letter from Lithan Academy confirming that enrollment, I wouldn’t assume that completing the course automatically makes you ineligible. The important part is whether GitHub Education can verify that you were an eligible student during the relevant period. Your September 2026 letter could therefore still be useful, especially if it clearly includes:
Since your previous applications were rejected for document clarity rather than because you were explicitly told that your student status was invalid, I’d first make sure your GitHub profile name and 2FA are fully aligned, then submit the clearest official enrollment document you have. For the privacy question, I would avoid posting the document publicly in this discussion. If the normal verification flow doesn’t give you a way to provide the document privately, the safest route would be to use GitHub Education’s official support/verification process rather than uploading personal documents directly to a public discussion. One other thing I’d check before applying again: make sure the document itself clearly establishes the enrollment dates, because a certificate of completion and proof of enrollment serve slightly different purposes. In your case, the September letter confirming the actual enrollment period may be more relevant than simply waiting for the final certificate. Hopefully this helps clarify what to submit without exposing any personal information publicly. |
