switch between manual and automatic consult live preview

Hello,
being in the default search commands provided by consult (SPC-s-s providing consult-line or SPC-s-p providing consult-ripgrep, or SPC-s-D) I'd like to switch between automatic and manual preview of candidates (consult live previews). My idea was to jump from the search minibuffer to embark (C-;), press the keybinding assigned to this switch and then continue in the search.
I've tried some simple customization of the commands above based on consult-customize and :preview-key as outlined in the doc link. Nothing even remotely worked.

Is this possible? I also tried many not-working configs proposed by my virtual minions but it seems to me I miss something.

The origin of the idea is: I am searching the folder, I notice some files are too big for automatic preview (I see the message end of partial preview) so I'd like to switch to manual one.

Ok, so the answer is that I look for the answer in the wrong repo. It is more consult then doom question minad/consult#233
