No auto-export to Health Connect from Gadget bridge? #8025

There are two separate sync steps: Bangle.js 2 to Gadgetbridge, then Gadgetbridge to Health Connect. In Gadgetbridge, enable Settings > External Integrations > Health Connect > Sync after device sync and grant the Heart Rate and Sleep permissions. To avoid pressing the watch's Sync button each time, also enable Settings > Automations > Auto fetch activity data; Gadgetbridge documents that this pulls activity data when the phone screen is unlocked and requires a screen lock. I checked the current Gadgetbridge documentation for both switches and the data types: The Health Connect guide and device sync guide describe these settings. If you are using the separate Bangle.js Gadgetbridge build rather than standard Gadgetbridge, check whether both settings exist in that build; the Bangle.js support page distinguishes the two apps. A manual device sync followed by an automatic Health Connect update is a useful first check before enabling auto-fetch. |
Uh oh!

I'm still digging into this, but the gap I'm seeing looks like using the bangle.js 2 with gadgetbridge doesn't cause health connect to be automatically updated? Instead, I have to trigger a manual sync to health connect regularly. This makes Open Vitals hard to use with bangle.js; there's a lot of heart rate & sleep data it uses for certain metrics.
