Describe the integration you'd like

It appears some new Mitsubishi Electric AC units come with a new WIFI Module that only registers the device with and lets it connect to the new MELCloud Home app, not the usual MELCloud one.
There is currently no way to include MELCloud Home devices in Home Assistant, from my understanding.

What are your use cases for this integration?

Remote control of AC units, scheduling, etc. via Home Assistant

Is there a public API or documentation?

Not that I know of, I'm not very technical regarding this.

Presumably at some point MEL will retire the old melcloud so this plugin would need to be updated to work with MELCloud Home. Thankfully the heat pumps i got installed this week still work with the old system.

Same issue here. My new Mitsubishi HVAC was installed yesterday And nothing happen when launching the Melcloud integration. And because my units are registered in Melcloud Home, I cannot linked them to Melcloud.
Would be nice to get a MelCloud Home integration.

Also got 5 new indoor units installed today and i'm stuck within the MelCloud Home app. I can't connect them to HomeAssistant.

Same here as well, I have 3 indoor units and I planned to control it with MelCloud and HA but now only (buggy) MelCloud Home is working.

Whilst I appreciate people are hoping for a free / software solution, I've just bought the protoart WiFi adapter. About £60 including delivery, but this has solved the problem for me. Very easy to install the hardware (just a few screws to undo, then plug the adapter in to a vacant port) and software (not much more complex than any sort of smart bulb etc). Now fully integrated with HA

It sounds like a nice solution with remote thermostat, but if you have just had 5 new units installed, it's a fair bit of money to do this for all of them!

Yep, appreciate that. I'd paid more to get mitsubishi too, on the understanding that they would integrate well with HA. That said, if you've just spent maybe £1,500 per unit x 5, an extra £220 (3%) is maybe worth it to get the full functionality you had originally hoped for. Good luck whichever way!

I hit the same problem. I recently bought a new Mitsubishi A/C system and discovered it doesn't work with Home Assistant.

I managed to reverse engineer the MELCloud Home web app and have put together a HACS custom integration:

I've tested it with MAC-597 and another user has confirmed MAC-577 and MAC-567 adapters also work. The integration supports the usual HVAC controls plus energy monitoring for the HA Energy Dashboard.

If you give it a try with your model, let me know how it goes.

Air-to-Water (ATW) Heat Pump Support:

• Full climate control for Zone 1 (heating/cooling*, preset modes, 10-30°C range)
• Water heater platform for DHW tank (40-60°C, Eco/High demand modes)
• System power control via switch
• Temperature sensors (zone, tank, WiFi signal)
• 6 telemetry sensors (flow/return temperatures for monitoring efficiency)
• Energy monitoring*: consumption, production, and COP tracking (Energy Dashboard compatible)

MELCloud Home v2.2.1 Released - Zone 2 Support for ATW Heat Pumps

MELCloud Home now supports Zone 2 control for Air-to-Water heat pumps with automatic capability detection.

What's New

Zone 2 Climate Control:

• Full HVAC control (heating/cooling, preset modes, temperature)
• Zone 2 room temperature sensor
• Zone 2 flow and return temperature telemetry sensors
• Shared architecture for consistent Zone 1/Zone 2 behavior

Zone 2 is automatically detected from your device capabilities. If your ATW system supports Zone 2, the entities will appear after updating.

*Cooling mode availability depends on device capabilities

Upgrade

HACS users will see the update automatically. To install:

1. Go to HACS → Integrations
2. Find MELCloud Home
3. Click Update
4. Restart Home Assistant
