Multi-site Tenancy

I was wondering if anyone has setup multi-site tenancy with Lerd.

I have set in my .lerd.yaml file

- domains
    - main.test
    - subone.test
    - subtwo.test

When I go to main.test the admin area loads fine. When I go to either subone.test or subtwo.test, they show a message telling me to run lerd link in the project to link it. I tried to run link a second time in the project folder but it wouldn't.

Thanks for any light you can shed on what I'm doing wrong.

Two things are going on, and neither is your fault really, lerd should have told you about both.

The .lerd.yaml you pasted is a top level list, not a map. The leading dash on - domains turns the whole document into a sequence, so it does not parse into the config struct at all and lerd throws the entire file away without saying anything. That is why nothing you put in there had any effect. Filed as #1631.

The second one is that domains go in without the TLD, so main.test becomes main.test.test and never resolves. lerd domain add learned to strip a trailing .test a while back, the .lerd.yaml path never did. Filed as #1632, it will accept both spellings once that lands.

So what you want is

domains:
  - main
  - subone
  - subtwo

Note the indentation too, the entries sit under the key rather than nested two levels in.

Re-running lerd link in an already linked project is a no-op by design, it just tells you it is registered. Easiest way to pick the change up is lerd domain add subone and lerd domain add subtwo from the project, which registers them and writes them back to the file. If you would rather do it in one go, lerd unlink then lerd link re-reads everything.

One thing worth knowing while we are here, lerd watches .lerd.yaml but only re-detects the PHP and Node version from it and restarts the queue workers. Domains, services and workers are not picked up on save, they need the command.

Thank you. The domains were a typo when I wrote up the discussion. I have everything working now.
