Spotify refresh token error with client id

When i setup the integration with Spotify and i add the client ID, i get a pup-up message when i try to save saying: 'refresh_token'

Does anybody know what this triggers?

I am running into the same issue. Relevant logs when configuring the client ID for the first time:

The UI will then show The provider is not (yet) loaded under Settings / Music Sources.

When I retry the developer authentication, I only see this in the logs:

Edit: When I restart Music Assistant in this state, under Settings / Music Sources it shows This provider requires attention.

In the startup logs, it prints:

2026-06-25 12:04:39.638 WARNING (MainThread) [music_assistant] Error loading provider(instance) spotify--5x7R8wXj: 'refresh_token'

As a workaround i pressed Clear developer authentication. So at least Spotify works. But of course now I am running into rate limits pretty fast.

OK this appears to be due to a (further) change by Spotify recently. Should be fixed by music-assistant/server#4494
