Hi Supabase team,
I'm Cristian, maintainer of Testcontainers for Node.js (https://github.com/testcontainers/testcontainers-node), writing on behalf of the Testcontainers maintainer team.
The reason we're reaching out to you specifically: supabase-js and functions-js run their Edge Function relay tests on Testcontainers for Node.js, and pg-toolbelt ships Testcontainers-aware cleanup tooling for its Postgres test clusters. Reliable local Postgres testing is core to the Supabase developer experience, and our PostgreSQL module is one of the most-used in the Node ecosystem.
Some context on the project: Testcontainers is one project with 12 language implementations - Java, Go, .NET, Node.js, Python, Rust and more. The Node.js implementation was downloaded 24.6 million times on npm last month (4.5x the year before); the Java implementation saw ~294 million Maven Central downloads in a single quarter, across roughly 107,000 companies; all told, we're on pace for well over a billion package downloads a year.
Sponsorship funds the work behind all of those implementations: CI and hosting infrastructure, maintenance of the modules you rely on, and bug bounties that let us pay contributors for tricky or urgent fixes. Sponsors get their logo and link on testcontainers.org, Silver+ tiers include monthly bug bounties you can point at the issues that matter most to you, and we'd be glad to publish a joint case study.
You already back Postgres infrastructure you depend on through GitHub Sponsors (pgBackRest, for one), so we'd love for you to consider adding Testcontainers at whatever tier makes sense: https://github.com/sponsors/testcontainers. We're equally open to a direct partnership shaped around the modules you use.
If a discussion isn't the right place for this, a pointer to whoever handles open-source sponsorship would be much appreciated.
Best,
Cristian
