Hy team,
I've been using Supabase heavily for my projects, and while the developer experience is generally incredible, I keep running into a couple of minor UI friction points with Edge Functions that I'd love to help improve for everyone.
If the team agrees with these adjustments, I would love to contribute and submit a PR to resolve them!
1. Edge Function Editor Height Compression on Subsequent Edits
When creating a new edge function, the editor has plenty of vertical space to write code comfortably. However, on subsequent edits, the top header elements (like the function name, endpoint URL like https://..., and the tab navigation row: Overview Invocations Logs Code Settings Files) leave very little vertical room for actual coding. This forces me to constantly toggle full-screen mode in and out.
2. Edge Function Mobile Usability
When trying to manage edge functions on a mobile device, the layout breaks. Specifically, the left-hand options container (managing functions and secrets) and the files view take up the entire screen width, completely hiding the code editor (only a bit of it is visible) or making it unusable unless forced into Desktop Mode. (Most other pages in the Supabase dashboard handle mobile responsiveness nicely, but Edge Functions are an exception here).
Additionally, typing performance on mobile lags a lot. Due to how the dashboard's code editor handles virtual keyboards and viewport touch events, it causes severe input lag and makes it difficult to place the cursor accurately to edit code. (i think we could leave it for next time, for now we should focus on UI)
I'd love to hear your thoughts on these points. If you agree these are worth addressing, please let me know and I'd be happy to contribute and create PR for it.
