It would be incredibly helpful if the Supabase Dashboard tracked the history of database functions. Specifically, when looking at a function in the UI, I would love to see:
Why is this valuable?
I am using AI-assisted development, leveraging AI agents via MCP to write and execute multiple RPC functions directly in the database.
The issue I frequently encounter is that my AI agent sometimes calls a raw
execute_sqltool to push updates rather than using anapply_migrationtool. Because it sometimes bypasses the proper tool, there is no consistent migration tracking for these changes. On top of that, the agent often hits intermittent errors—like framework timeouts, network drops, or internal agent crashes—right as it executes the SQL. When the agent crashes mid-task, it leaves me completely in the dark. Because the raw tool leaves no migration history trailing behind it, I have no idea if the
CREATE OR REPLACE FUNCTIONcommand actually went through successfully, or if it failed right before committing.Right now, the only way to find out is to manually copy code out of the dashboard and diff it against my local files, which significantly slows down my workflow. Having a quick visual timeline in the Supabase Dashboard would save a ton of time, allowing me to instantly verify exactly what my AI successfully updated before it crashed.
