Sineless 0.4.1
A reliability and polish release: fixes found by a review of the whole plugin, and much wider test coverage.
Fixes
- Multi and Compare during tempo changes: a lane could stay blank after a tempo ramp until the tempo moved further. Every lane now keeps drawing.
- The editor on macOS recovers by itself when macOS ends its page process under memory pressure, instead of staying blank until reopened. It also stays on its own page when a link or file is dropped on it, and no longer shows a browser context menu.
- Silence reads as −∞ everywhere: any level at or below −100 dBFS, such as a sum that cancels exactly or a dither floor, instead of numbers like −332.2 dB. Compare no longer analyses tracks that are only that quiet.
- Frequency shows a dash for noise and other signals that don't repeat steadily, instead of a made-up pitch. The hover readout follows the same rule, and agrees with the frequency readout on signals with a DC offset.
- Readouts near unit boundaries show what they round to ("1 s", not "1.00e+3 ms"), a peak just under full scale reads 0.0, and offsets of a sample or two show.
- Typed values are read in each field's own units: Concert pitch accepts "Hz", and a time typed into Vertical is refused.
- Cancelling: the summing gain's colour, the red shading and the help now agree on what "cancels" means (more than 1 dB below what unrelated tracks would give).
- Preview fix in Sec mode measures the fix only where the shifted tracks have audio, so the gain no longer reads too low at short spans.
- Mono tracks show one lane, with R, M and S disabled, and the trigger marker in that lane.
- Panning a frozen view stops where the held audio does.
- A change of sample rate with the editor open is picked up.
- In Beats mode, the readouts measure the top view on show instead of a hidden trigger source.
- The editor's minimum height leaves room for stacked views in Single mode too.
- Lanes without a host colour each get their own colour, none of them the sum lane's.
- The mouse wheel: Shift steps values finely on the Mac too, and one notch zooms by the same step on every system.
- Time span and Hold-off step finely with Shift, as the help says.
