Fixes for problems introduced in 0.4.1, and clearer handling of very quiet audio.

Fixes

  • Fully zoomed in, a view could occasionally be ignored and the trace look coarse until the next change. It no longer is.
  • Multi and Compare no longer keep making frames after you pan a frozen view in Sec mode and switch to Beats.
  • Panning a frozen view stops exactly where the held audio does, and every lane stays drawn at the furthest point.
  • Compare keeps searching all tracks when one of them has only just started playing.
  • The red cancellation shading no longer marks unrelated tracks, such as double-tracked guitars, as cancelling; it shows where tracks cancel strongly.
  • In Beats mode Peak, RMS and frequency measure the Mid again, as in 0.4.0, instead of the left channel.
  • The trigger marker stays in the right lane when lanes are added or a track turns mono, and the view buttons stay disabled where they don't apply.
  • Compare's window leaves room for the sum lane even with no other track checked.
  • Short beat spans keep every lane drawn during tempo changes.
  • Offsets of a sample or two show at any sample rate ("+0.0026 ms" at 384 kHz).
  • The editor comes back after a crash even if its page had not finished loading.

Quiet audio

  • Readouts (Peak, RMS, hover, level cursors) now show levels down to −120 dBFS, so converter and analog noise floors read as numbers; only quieter signals read −∞.
  • The summing gain shows nulls down to −140 dB, so a deep cancellation shows its depth. Tracks that never play together show "—" instead of 0.0 dB.
  • Compare and the frequency readout ignore audio below −90 dBFS RMS, such as 16-bit dither.

Requirements

  • macOS 13.1 or later, on Apple silicon or Intel.
  • Or Windows 10 or later, x64 or ARM64, with the Microsoft Edge WebView2 Runtime (included with Windows 11 and current Windows 10).
  • A VST3 host. See HOSTS.md for the hosts tested so far.

Projects saved with earlier versions open with their settings unchanged.
