For RPM of built binaries download fedora-44-latest zip artifact of the action run at the below URL.
Note that they are built within a github hosted worker, where you can also verify the code against that build.

The bellow assumes you have already installed the previous latest release of upstream linux-surface/linux-surface
, as per the guidance there.
When installing these packages as the rpms are not signed you will have to dnf install with --no-gpgchecks . (You can still check the sha256 which is given next to the artifact download, and presumably you are downloading via https.)
You will also need to install all the relevant packages that you wish to use, as multiple arguments to a single dnf command, as they provide dependencies to each other.
You will also need to use grubby to set the kernel as the default. The linux-surface watchdog py script and daemon, won't work.
If you wish to use secure boot you will need to mokutil register the new certificate file unchanged since here, https://github.com/orthogonaleety/linux-surface/tree/f44-7.0.12-1/pkg/keys. I suppose it's still marginally more secure that having no secure boot, but only very marginally. Please note that you are effectively saying that you trust at that level, any signatures I orthogonaleety could in theory generate.
- It is not updated often but if not already you will likely also need libwacom-surface built against libwacom 2.19 (with the fedora 44 tool chain).
