WinClick 1.0.5
Download WinClick.dmg below. Requires macOS 13 or later — Apple silicon and Intel. Signed and notarized by Apple.
What's new in 1.0.5
- Finder's right-click menu is free: Cut, Paste, New ▸, Move to ▸, Copy to ▸, Copy as Path, Open Terminal Here and Always Open With ▸.
- The keyboard shortcuts need a licence after a 7-day free trial, which asks for no card: Delete → Trash, ⇧Delete, Return to open, F2, F3, F4, ⌃⌥D, Ctrl+Alt+Del and Ctrl+Shift+Esc.
- $2.99 a month, $14.99 a year, or $29.99 once for a lifetime licence covering every 1.x update. One personal licence works on up to 3 of your Macs.
- About ▸ License shows the status, takes your key, frees a Mac again, and opens Stripe's portal to switch plan, change card or cancel.
- Your key arrives by email and can be sent again from license.osivibecode.xyz/recover.
- Paste into a folder: right-click a folder and Paste puts the files inside it, as Explorer does. The menu names the folder: Paste into “Projects”.
- New ▸ opens the new file's name for editing straight away, as in Explorer.
- Paste works in the background: a large paste to another drive no longer freezes Finder.
- Show in menu bar: hide the menu bar icon in Setup. Open WinClick from Applications to bring the window back.
- WinClick Lite, the App Store edition, steps aside when WinClick is installed, so Finder never shows two menus. WinClick offers to remove it.
- Settings…, Check for Updates… and Remove… in the menu bar open the installed WinClick, never a copy in Downloads or on a disk image.
- Remove WinClick… says so if macOS will not let it move itself to the Trash, and shows it in Finder instead.
Already on 1.0.4? WinClick offers this update itself — or choose Check for Updates… in the menu bar.
The "Source code" archives are added by GitHub automatically. They contain only this repo's policy pages, not the app.
WinClick 1.0.4
Download WinClick.dmg below. Requires macOS 13 or later — Apple silicon and Intel. Signed and notarized by Apple.
What's new in 1.0.4
- Ctrl+Alt+Del (⌃⌥⌫): one popup to force quit the app in front, force quit another app, lock, log out, change your password, open Activity Monitor, or sleep, restart and shut down. ⌃⌥⌫ then Return closes a frozen app.
- Ctrl+Shift+Esc (⌃⇧⎋) opens Activity Monitor, the Mac's Task Manager.
- Move to ▸ and Copy to ▸ in Finder's right-click menu: your last five folders, then Choose Folder….
- Check for Updates… in the menu bar now works while WinClick is open, and shows the About tab.
- Updates now restart the background helper too, so new shortcuts take effect at once.
- Cut and Paste into the same folder leaves the file alone instead of making a copy.
- Icons for every item in the menu bar menu.
Already on 1.0.3? WinClick offers this update itself — or choose Check for Updates… in the menu bar.
The "Source code" archives are added by GitHub automatically. They contain only this repo's policy pages, not the app.
WinClick 1.0.3
Download WinClick.dmg below. Requires macOS 13 or later — Apple silicon and Intel. Signed and notarized by Apple.
What's new in 1.0.3
- Automatic updates: WinClick checks once a day and offers new versions as they come out. Switch it off in About ▸ Updates.
- Check for Updates… in the app menu, the About tab and the menu bar menu.
- Privacy policy updated to describe the update check, WinClick's only network connection.
Coming from 1.0.2 or earlier? Install this one by hand — from here on, updates arrive on their own.
The "Source code" archives are added by GitHub automatically. They contain only this repo's policy pages, not the app.
WinClick 1.0.2
Download WinClick.dmg below. Requires macOS 13 or later — Apple silicon and Intel. Signed and notarized by Apple.
What's new in 1.0.2
- First public release, from osivibecode.xyz.
- Remove WinClick… in the About tab and the menu bar menu: switches everything off, deletes its settings and moves the app to the Trash.
- Faster right-click menu: the Always Open With app list and its icons are cached, and the list is trimmed to eight apps.
- New installer window: drag WinClick to Applications.
- Fixed: cancelling an uninstall reopened the dialog on every launch and kept the shortcuts from starting.
- Privacy policy and EULA moved to osivibecode.github.io/winclick-releases.
