AWS has released Amazon Linux 2023 based runtimes for older Java versions,
java8.al2023,java11.al2023, andjava17.al2023, for customers who cannot move to Java 21 or 25 before Amazon Linux 2 reaches end of life. This mirrors the 4.x change on the 3.x branch, adding the three identifiers to the runtime schema and TypeScript types, routing them to the local Java runner forinvoke local, and extending the runtime tests to cover schema acceptance at the provider and function level, layer compatible runtimes, and local invocation dispatch.
