Homescreen widget

Thank you so much for this fork of RadioDroid! I really like the UI and its functionality!
Do you have any plans to add a widget to control the app? Like:

• Show the current station with artwork/icon, current played title and artist etc.
• Play - pause/stop - next/previous favorite station

Thanks for the suggestion.

I read your Claude Agent text and I will not do it like it suggested. I will use "Compose-for-widgets" not RemoteViews. My target for AMARadio is full jetpack compose.

I can do it in the next version after the Version 1.16 (Android Auto connection, only local on my Notebook at the momement) , ( think 1.17) . Don't know when exactly I release 1.16 or step directly to 1.17 in google playstore. I need to test the android auto gearhead for 1 to 3 days localy.
In the meantime I can do the widget thing. It will be follow my flat design without any color play just black gray white and amaradioamber.

I think it will be:
Small
First line Playbutton and Miniaturpicture (Back and Foward button (List from History)
Second Line: Sendername
Third line: Track

Bigger widget
Senderlist with the last 3 played station (Format like in Amaradio without Metadata just stationname).

I use musicolet a lot and there widget is my template when I am doing it:

In a further iteration its planned an customizable Favoritlist like youtube Playlists (it's a issue in AMARadio Github Repo).

And you are so lucky that I did Android Auto first. M3U8 Stationlink Typ Stations (Playlist with ts inside) URL destroyed in the Background the mediaitems when android Auto asked for it, fixed it in 1.16. So AMARadio is now hardend for mediaitem exchange everywhere. That has cost me 2 evenings before I left Vibe Coding and startet analyse myself (oldschool SQL Query and and do the what's the difference work) than it was a 10 minute task (like the idiot that I am) .

And JPG are stored locally in a Android Auto compatible format, that means that the widget kann use those cached Pictures without a buggy internet queury for Stationpictures. Local first is my target. The format is fixed for android auto with it's stricter handling of formats. When android auto works everything else is easy.

I think I will do first the basic widget (Small and Big) and fix the add the "Add to Homescreen functionality"

FYI:
Widget minimum viable is ready (Wrong at the moment: Trackinfo instead of the now displayed Tag, but I need a break from fixing errors from the agent ).

If you have some sugestion just tell me. But I have hard constrains with the functionality of widgets in android (I didn't know that lacyColumns where impossible with state changes (change Stations) that meant I lost hours while I tried to read directly from SQL Room DB) .

Next Testing phase, and Bundesfeiertag ...

I don't give you a Rollout Date but you can be sure it's not in 1 month or later.

It's on the way. Google checks it, I check it again via my closed test track before it goes in production. Thank you for the idea with the widget. I barely use the main app now, I start the streams mostly via widget.

FYI
The Update is stuck in Google manual review that takes to long because they have to little manpower to do the job. I can't give you a definitiv update date (google said 3 to 14 days atm).
In the meantime I fixed "crashes" from googles crash reports. Always a diffent User (with different smartphone) with a different crash, thats good for me, it was never a fundamental bug in our App.

One week later, the widget version is still in review on Google Play. Also, thanks for the review on Google Play!

In the meantime, I fixed some crashes reported via Google Play Console (#66, #67 etc.).

New features:

• Weighted Full-Text Search: Searching for "rock last" now returns "Last.FM Rock" at the top. Results are weighted (e.g. "tle" ranks "Radio Tlemcen" at the top instead of matching "Beatles").
• Google Cast: First version is implemented; currently setting up the test environment.

RadioDroid upstream issues:
Going through issues from the original repo (https://github.com/segler-alex/RadioDroid/issues):
