What changed

You no longer need to name an execution mode on each request. auto is now
the default and chooses one for you, and review stays on unless you turn it
off yourself.

  • auto is the default. If the request names no mode and none is
recorded, the agent picks one before it starts. It states the choice and the
reason in one line, for example
Mode: workflow (five independent findings in separate files)., and then
proceeds. You may switch the mode at any time, and the task records the
    reason.
    • A request that changes no repository file, such as a question or
      read-only analysis, needs no mode.
    • One coherent outcome selects normal. The session implements, then an
      independent reviewer checks the work.
    • Two or more independent outcomes with disjoint files select workflow.
The spec is reviewed, executors work in parallel, and a final review
      follows.
    • When unsure, auto selects normal.
    • auto never selects pure, because skipping review must be your choice.
  • Precedence.
    • A mode named in the request wins over the recorded Default mode:, which
      wins over auto.
    • A request may name auto to override a recorded default.
    • A profile named alone keeps the default mode.
    • Once the mode is set, the agent never switches modes on its own.
  • Docs. The router, the orchestrator role, the architecture doc, and the
README now describe auto. The README session defaults use
    Default mode: auto.

There is no new role, room, tool, hook, or contract file, and project memory
templates are unchanged.

Migration note

Projects that record a Delegation: policy in Assignments and no
Default mode: move to auto on update. To keep the previous delegation
behavior, add this line to Assignments in memory/project/procedures.md:

Default mode: delegation.

Install or update

Run from the root of the repository that should use aihaus:

npm exec --yes --package=https://github.com/overdrive-dev/aihaus-flow/releases/download/v1.10.0/aihaus-flow-v1.10.0.tgz -- aihaus init --target . --check --json
npm exec --yes --package=https://github.com/overdrive-dev/aihaus-flow/releases/download/v1.10.0/aihaus-flow-v1.10.0.tgz -- aihaus init --target . --json

Project memory is preserved, including your Assignments and Autonomy
sections. Customized installations should run the --check preview first
and follow the runbook in
INSTALL-VIA-LLM.md.
The .sha256 asset supports an independent archive integrity check.

This release was built in normal mode:

  1. The owner confirmed the assumed decisions.
  2. Claude Opus 5.5 implemented the change.
  3. Codex gpt-6.1-sol reviewed it independently and found one P2 and one P3.
  4. Codex gpt-6-luna max fixed both in a fresh context.
  5. A recheck ended with ship.

CI then ran 106 contract tests on Linux, macOS, and Windows.
