Introducing Remote Storage options for VPS 2027 #153

As part of our newly released VPS 2027 generation, we are introducing a major architectural evolution designed to give you more flexibility and resilience: the choice between Remote Storage and Local Storage.

This feature is currently under active development and is scheduled to roll out in October 2026. Ahead of the launch, we wanted to share our vision, explain how it works, and open the floor for your feedback!

Why introduce Remote Storage?
Until now, our VPS lineups have relied exclusively on Local NVMe Storage. While excellent for raw performance, it lacks the flexibility that many modern, cloud-native workloads require.
With the 2027 range (specifically for VPS 2, VPS 3, and VPS 4), we are splitting the storage infrastructure to give you the best of both worlds:

  1. Remote Storage (New - Default): Hosted on a dedicated, high-resilience storage network. It is designed to be the go-to economic baseline for standard workloads, web hosting, and applications that don't bottleneck on disk I/O, while offering built-in data replication and high resilience.
  2. Local Storage (NVMe Option): Keeps your data directly on the host server. This remains an optional, high-performance upgrade for database-heavy workloads, intensive caching, or applications requiring ultra-low latency and maximum read/write (I/O) speeds.

What about existing VPS 2026 instances?
No worries here: your current 2026 servers will not change. They keep their Local NVMe storage included out-of-the-box, with no forced migration or price changes.
