DeepSeek Status 1.5
One card per provider
The panel no longer mixes the two accounts. Everything about a provider now sits in that provider's own card:
- DeepSeek — the current period, its price multiplier (
×1.0/×0.5), the rate bar, the countdown to the next switch and how far through the block you are, then your balance once an API key is saved. Those rows used to sit in the panel header, half a screen above the balance they belong to. - LithosAI — the switch, the prepaid balance with Sign out, and its three tier prices: Base
×0.50, Fast×0.83, Ultra×1.17.×1is DeepSeek's peak price, so the two providers are directly comparable; these are limited-time prices, the same all day. Turn the switch off and the whole card disappears.
Also in 1.5
- Turning the LithosAI switch off no longer ends the session. The cookies stay, so turning it back on resumes without signing in again — only Sign out clears them.
- Fixed LithosAI prices being multiplied by the current period, which doubled every tier during off-peak hours.
./Tools/render-preview.sh ratesnow guards that. - README and screenshots refreshed for the new layout.

- One balance card now holds both accounts: the DeepSeek balance from your API key and an optional
LithosAI prepaid balance read from its own sign-in. Both share a single Refresh and refresh time. - LithosAI sign-in runs in the app's own WebView; Sign out clears that WebView's website data.
- New colour palette for the panel, the balance card and the schedule views.
- The preview banner no longer truncates in English.
- README and screenshots refreshed for 1.4.

First public release. 🐳
A macOS menu bar app that tells you — at a glance — whether DeepSeek is in peak or off-peak pricing.
- Peak hours — a bright blue whale, head up, bubbles behind its tail.
- Off-peak hours — a pale, sleeping whale with little
zs above its head. - Click the whale for a panel with the current period, the price multiplier, a live countdown to the
next switch, and a weekly schedule heat map. - Optional
HH:MM:SScountdown next to the menu bar icon, launch at login, and a preview mode that
shows either state at any time.
The rule it implements
Peak hours are Monday–Friday 09:00–12:00 and 14:00–18:00, Beijing time (Asia/Shanghai);
everything else is off-peak at half price. Ranges are half-open — 12:00 and 18:00 sharp are already
off-peak — and the result never depends on your Mac's own time zone. Public holidays are not part of
the rule.
Highlights
- Universal binary (Apple Silicon + Intel), macOS 14.0 or later.
- No network access, no analytics, no API key, no account — it only reads your system clock.
- The whale is the official DeepSeek mark, drawn from an embedded vector path: no image assets, sharp
at any size, ~0% idle CPU. - The details panel is a self-positioned window, so it can never be pushed half off-screen.
Installation
-
Download
DeepSeekStatus-1.0.zip, unzip it, and dragDeepSeekStatus.appinto/Applications. -
