NotiGlow v1.3

NotiGlow v1.3 is a dedicated performance, memory, and publish pipeline optimization release following v1.2, focusing on reducing idle memory footprint, improving view navigation responsiveness, and instrumenting startup logging.

Performance

  • View Caching & Lazy Navigation: Implemented page-instance caching across dashboard views in MainWindow, preventing redundant page reconstructions on navigation and eliminating associated GC allocation spikes.
  • Preview Control Redraw Optimization: Optimized EdgePreviewControl rendering loop and brush updates to reduce GPU/CPU draw overhead during settings configuration.

Memory

  • Reduced Allocation Pressure: Page navigation reuse prevents recurring UI tree allocations, lowering heap churn and stabilizing idle working set memory.
  • Event Handler Cleanups: Decoupled view-to-preview event subscriptions in settings views to ensure timely garbage collection of transient visual elements.

Startup & Diagnostics

  • Structured Startup Phase Logging: Added granular milestone timestamps in LoggerService across application bootstrap (START, MUTEX_ACQUIRED, APP_INIT, MAINWINDOW_CREATED, LISTENER_CONNECTED), enabling transparent startup profiling.
  • Notification Reader Diagnostics: Enhanced exception logging and safety wrappers around notification listener dispatch.

Publish

  • Single-File Compression: Enabled <EnableCompressionInSingleFile>true</EnableCompressionInSingleFile> in the release build profile to optimize distribution payload size and streamline portable execution.

Validation

  • Unit Tests: 86 passing tests verifying core notification detection, glow engines, profile management, and settings persistence.
  • Build: 0 warnings, 0 errors in .NET 9 Release build and publish.
