@oznetmaster oznetmaster released this 01 Oct 11:10

WeatherLinkLiveCrestronDriver 2.1.0

This minor update restores local station readings automatically after an established connection fails. It uses WeatherLinkLiveLibrary 2.1.0 and retains SimpleWeatherClient 2.0.0. Driver identity, configuration fields, existing commands and UI remain unchanged.

  • Keep one local client and let it retry after 10, 20, 30, 40, 50, 60 and 120 seconds, then 300 seconds repeatedly. A successful response resets the sequence and immediately restores local readings.
  • Add programmable WeatherLink Disconnected (weatherLinkDisconnected) and WeatherLink Reconnected (weatherLinkReconnected) events, once per transition. They describe the local station; working cloud fallback can keep the overall driver online during a local outage. Initial connection does not raise Reconnected.
  • Prevent late cloud responses or callbacks from retired clients from replacing newly recovered readings. Preserve the selected units when reading the retained client.

The candidate passed 94 checks on a Crestron processor: 90 unit/lifecycle checks, three real-station reading checks and a physical station-network recovery test. The cable test observed 10-, 20- and 30-second delays and one event per transition. Longer backoff delays are covered by offline tests. This does not represent a new endurance run or Crestron acceptance.

The release includes processor test package 1.2.1, built with released CrestronHomeNUnit 2.0.0 / NUnit 5.0.0. Its manual station network-recovery suite is separate from unattended tests. Repository desktop tests use NUnit3TestAdapter 6.3.0.

This version is available from GitHub and NuGet. Crestron's catalog remains 2.0.19; submission of this update is deferred.

Support: contact form. Source and documentation.

NuGet documentation correction: NuGet package 2.1.1 fixes the README license link, describes recovery as released, and records processor test package 1.2.1 correctly. Its driver payload is byte-for-byte identical to driver 2.1.0; no driver rebuild or runtime change is included.

@oznetmaster oznetmaster released this 21 Sep 12:58

WeatherLinkLiveCrestronDriver v2.0.18

This update adds OpenWeather One Call 4.0 support and reduces unnecessary cloud requests. Existing configuration fields, commands and driver identity remain unchanged. Update the existing instance; no reconfiguration is required.

The driver uses the same OpenWeather API key across services. It first tries One Call 3.0, retaining access for existing subscribers. If that service denies access, it tries 4.0; if 4.0 also denies access, it uses the free current-weather and reduced five-day forecast endpoints. Account subscriptions determine access. Rate limits, transient service failures and network failures do not trigger service fallback.

Current conditions and daily forecasts are requested together. The driver does not request hourly forecasts. A successful One Call 3.0 snapshot needs one request; 4.0 needs two. Automatic selection can also make an access-denied request while choosing a service. Cloud attempts, including failures, are spaced by at least ten minutes between configuration changes. Local station polling retains its own interval.

Runtime dependencies are SimpleWeatherClient 2.0.0 and WeatherLinkLiveLibrary 2.0.0. Both use typed System.Text.Json models. The full Newtonsoft.Json and log4net libraries are no longer merged into the driver; Crestron's own platform dependencies are unchanged.

An OpenWeather API key is still required by this driver version. A local WeatherLink Live device is optional: without one, OpenWeather supplies both current conditions and forecasts. Station-only operation without an API key is not included in this update.

@github-actions github-actions released this 21 Sep 01:52

WeatherLinkLiveCrestronDriver v2.0.17

Patch release correcting weather-source availability reporting.

  • Mark the driver offline when both current-weather sources fail, while retaining the last available readings and displaying the refresh failure.
  • Restore online status when current weather becomes available again.
  • Keep fresh local readings online when only the cloud forecast refresh fails.

Driver identity, configuration fields, public commands and runtime library versions are unchanged. Update the existing instance; no reconfiguration is required.

WeatherLinkLiveCrestronDriver Tests v1.1.3

WeatherLinkLiveCrestronDriver Tests

1.1.3

  • Add regression tests for offline status, retained readings, empty cloud responses, source recovery, forecast-only failures and late failed requests after configuration is cleared.
  • Space read-only live station requests at the documented ten-second interval and include the underlying station-read error in failures. Tests do not automatically retry failed reads.
  • Include the driver 2.0.17 availability fix in the test assembly. The production driver is independently installed and released.
  • This processor test package is published on GitHub only, not NuGet.

1.1.2

  • Add regression coverage for local and cloud pressure units, cloud wind and rainfall units, and the values displayed by the driver.
  • Build with CrestronHomeNUnit test-host SDK 1.12.1. Validate discovered test identities against the desktop suite instead of maintaining a separate expected-count constant.
  • Validate the unit, lifecycle and optional read-only live suites on a processor. Live tests require the station address in private inputs and do not change station settings.
  • Include temporary-instance and stored-package cleanup in automated test workflows. Home may retain a cached catalogue entry until its next planned reboot.
  • This test package is published on GitHub only; it is not a NuGet package.

1.1.1

  • Rebuild with CrestronHomeNUnit 1.2.1. Test execution now participates in the shared processor reservation used by the runner, Test Explorer, CLI and hardware CI.

  • The net472 package contains 59 discovered cases, with 56 in automatic suites. Live suites remain optional and require private inputs where documented.

  • Use the standalone Utility tile, Windows runner, or the solution's Test Explorer workflow project. Private workflow plans can remove the temporary instance after testing.

  • This is an independent processor-test package release on GitHub; it does not publish or update a driver/library NuGet package.

  • Add three optional live weather station tests for measured readings, repeated refresh and unit selection. The package contains 59 tests in total.

  • Supply the station address through private runner inputs. Tests read station data without changing station settings.

1.1.0 — 2026-09-14

  • 40 offline tests and 16 SDK lifecycle tests, shared between desktop validation and the net472 processor package.
  • Cover local readings, failure cache retention, cloud refresh throttling and delayed local/cloud responses after configuration changes or disposal. Reject stale responses before they can restore cached weather or online state.
  • Install the standalone test package from Configure’s Utility category. Select suites using its Home tile or the Windows NUnit runner.
  • Processor test packages are GitHub release assets and are not published to NuGet. Private test inputs and deployment settings are excluded.

WeatherLinkLiveCrestronDriver v2.0.16

Patch release correcting weather measurement units.

  • Display local metric pressure in hPa by converting the WeatherLink library's mmHg readings. Convert cloud pressure to inHg when UK or Imperial units are selected.
  • Convert cloud fallback wind from m/s to kph for Metric units or mph for UK units. Convert cloud rainfall from millimetres to inches for Imperial units.
  • Load the embedded driver definition explicitly so the driver starts correctly with its named package assembly.
  • Include the driver help PDF and third-party licence notices in the package.

The package is named NeilColvin_WeatherStation_WeatherLinkLive_IP_V2.pkg. Its driver identity, configuration fields and public commands are unchanged. Update the existing instance; no reconfiguration is required.

Runtime library versions are unchanged. Regression tests cover the unit conversions and display values.

@oznetmaster oznetmaster released this 15 Sep 13:15

WeatherLinkLiveCrestronDriver v2.0.14

Patch release correcting tile placement in the Crestron Home app.

  • Display the driver tile on the Home screen only, instead of both Home and room screens.
  • Preserve the driver's room assignment, configuration, authentication and control APIs.

Validation: all 56 existing offline and desktop SDK fixture cases passed. The UI definition parses successfully and explicitly enables Home placement while disabling room placement.

Update the existing driver instance with this package. No reconfiguration is required.

Hardware validation: the exact source revision passed its processor workflow. Updating the existing installed driver also verified Home-only placement and configured, online and ready state, with its instance identity and room assignment preserved.

@oznetmaster oznetmaster released this 13 Sep 23:25

WeatherLinkLiveCrestronDriver v2.0.13

Patch release correcting lifecycle, configuration and recovery defects while preserving the public API and intended driver behavior.

Fixes

  • Reject delayed local and cloud readings after configuration changes or disposal so old responses cannot repopulate caches or restore stale online state.
  • Preserve the last local reading when a refresh fails and retain cloud refresh throttling.
  • Reject NaN latitude and longitude overrides. Normal operation continues to obtain location from the processor.

Tests and build process

  • 40 offline tests and 16 SDK lifecycle tests. The current implementation passes on Windows in Debug and Release; both processor suites passed twice in the same host process.
  • The shared net472 processor test package is available in the solution and appears under Utility in Configure. Its standalone Home tile and Windows NUnit runner select the test suites.
  • Driver Debug build versions follow the manifest; three-part release tags select the CI release version. Test builds do not increment or deploy the production driver.
  • Processor test packages are not published to NuGet. Private deployment settings, live inputs and desktop SDK runtime dependencies are excluded from source and release assets.

Installation and documentation

The GitHub release includes the production driver package and a separate processor test package. The test package appears under Utility in Configure and is not included in the driver NuGet package. See CHANGELOG.md for release history and README.md for installation and testing.
