@github-actions github-actions released this 09 Oct 09:17

Nexu Port Forwarding 1.2.2

English

Stable feature release 1.2.2: unified multi-term search and a combined LOCAL/REMOTE forwarding filter.

Changes since 1.2.1

  • Replaced separate installation, name and hostname/IP searches with a single search box for tunnel profiles.
  • Every whitespace-separated term is matched as a case-insensitive substring of an individual field. All terms must match, but each may match a different field. For example, prato 8687 matches a Prato profile with listener port 8687 regardless of word order.
  • Search covers profile UUID, name/title, notes/description, installation, origin, forwarding type, SSH hostname, resolved SSH IP, username, listener/destination/proxy hostnames and IPs, relevant port numbers and import source ID. Passwords and private-key paths are not indexed.
  • Search results update when asynchronous SSH-hostname resolution supplies an IP address.
  • The type dropdown now includes LOCAL + REMOTE (-L / -R) alongside All types, LOCAL, REMOTE and DYNAMIC.
  • The source tabs and connection-state filter continue to combine with search results.
  • Added regression tests for multi-field terms, substrings, IPs, ports, IDs, empty input and type combinations.

Safety

No SSH connection is started by searching or changing filters. Stored credentials are not indexed. Packages are unsigned; verify the downloaded checksums and the SSH-server settings before production use.

Nexu Port Forwarding 1.2.2

Italiano

Nexu Port Forwarding v1.2.1

Choose a tag to compare

@github-actions github-actions released this 24 Sep 12:29

Nexu Port Forwarding 1.2.1

English

Stable maintenance release 1.2.1 with clearer tunnel-state feedback, improved remote-forwarding diagnostics, and substantially more robust Tabby/MobaXterm import handling.

Changes since 1.2.0

  • Tunnel rows in STOPPING state switch to the red background immediately. STOPPED rows, including newly created tunnels, remain red; ACTIVE rows remain green.

  • Existing Start/Stop button colors are unchanged.

  • When a REMOTE (-R) forwarding request is rejected after successful SSH authentication, the diagnostic explicitly suggests checking whether the requested listener on the SSH server is already occupied by another SSH remote forwarding/session or another process.

  • The same diagnostic also points to AllowTcpForwarding, PermitListen, GatewayPorts for non-loopback listeners, and Match/per-user restrictions.

  • Tabby v8 forwarding entries under profiles[*].options.forwardedPorts are supported, including multiple Local/Remote forwards in one SSH profile.

  • Tabby imports preserve SSH hostname, SSH port, username, listener and destination without importing passwords.

  • Missing Tabby auth no longer blocks normal selection: the profile is imported without a stored credential and Nexu asks for it when the tunnel starts.

  • MobaXterm [PortForwarding] imports preserve Local/Remote definitions, SSH usernames and repeated tunnel names.

  • Recognized MobaXterm WEB proxy/HTTP CONNECT and SOCKS5 transports are preserved without importing proxy credentials.

  • Malformed MobaXterm forwarding entries are isolated per row: model validation errors increment skipped and are reported as warnings instead of aborting the entire file.

  • A regression test verifies the sequence valid Local → invalid URL-like SSH host → valid Remote, ensuring later valid entries remain importable.

  • Imported Tabby and MobaXterm profiles are appended to existing profiles; Custom, Tabby and MobaXterm origins remain distinct.

Diagnostic note

A generic SSH remote-forwarding rejection does not always reveal whether the cause is a port conflict or an sshd policy restriction. Nexu reports both possibilities instead of claiming one specific cause.

Safety

Passwords are not imported from Tabby or MobaXterm configuration files. This release is unsigned; validate forwarding behavior and SSH-server policy settings in your own environment before production use.

Nexu Port Forwarding 1.2.1

Italiano

  • L'import Tabby conserva hostname SSH, porta SSH, username, listener e destinazione senza importare password.

  • I trasporti MobaXterm WEB proxy/HTTP CONNECT e SOCKS5 riconosciuti vengono mantenuti senza importare credenziali proxy.

Nexu Port Forwarding 1.2.1-rc.3

English

Prerelease focused on clearer tunnel-state feedback and more useful diagnostics when an SSH server rejects remote port forwarding.

Changes since 1.2.0

  • Tunnel rows in STOPPING state now switch to the red background immediately. STOPPED rows, including newly created tunnels, remain red; ACTIVE rows remain green.
  • The existing Start/Stop button colors are unchanged.
  • When a REMOTE (-R) forwarding request is rejected after successful SSH authentication, the diagnostic now explicitly suggests checking whether the requested listener on the SSH server is already occupied by another SSH remote forwarding/session or another process.
  • The same diagnostic still points to server-side policy checks such as AllowTcpForwarding, PermitListen, GatewayPorts for non-loopback listeners, and Match/per-user restrictions.
  • Added a regression test covering the new remote-port-conflict hint.
  • Application/package version moved to 1.2.1 for the v1.2.1-rc.3 prerelease.
  • Tabby v8 profiles with forwarding entries under profiles[*].options.forwardedPorts are covered by a real-shape regression fixture: multiple Local/Remote forwards per SSH profile preserve SSH host, port and username while importing no password.
  • MobaXterm [PortForwarding] fixtures now preserve Local/Remote definitions, SSH usernames and repeated tunnel names; recognized WEB proxy / SOCKS5 transports are mapped to Nexu proxy settings without importing proxy credentials.
  • Missing Tabby auth no longer blocks default selection: the profile is imported without a saved credential and Nexu asks for it when the tunnel is started.
  • rc.2 fixes the MobaXterm proxy carry-over regression so recognized HTTP CONNECT/SOCKS5 settings remain attached to the imported profile, and updates the Tabby regression test to match the intended no-credential import behavior.
  • rc.3 isolates malformed MobaXterm forwarding entries: model-level IllegalArgumentException validation failures are converted to per-entry Invalid results, so one bad SSH host or other invalid row increments skipped and does not abort valid entries that follow.
  • Added a regression test with valid Local → invalid URL-like SSH host → valid Remote, asserting entries=3, candidates=2, skipped=1 and preservation of the final Remote entry.

Diagnostic note

A generic SSH remote-forwarding rejection does not always reveal whether the cause is a port conflict or an sshd policy restriction. Nexu therefore reports both possibilities instead of claiming one specific cause.

Safety

  • I fixture MobaXterm [PortForwarding] mantengono Local/Remote, username SSH e tunnel ripetuti; i trasporti WEB proxy / SOCKS5 riconosciuti vengono convertiti nelle impostazioni proxy Nexu senza importare credenziali proxy.

Nexu Port Forwarding v1.2.0

Choose a tag to compare

@github-actions github-actions released this 21 Sep 19:22

Nexu Port Forwarding 1.2.0

English

Stable 1.2.0 release with configurable SOCKS5/HTTP CONNECT proxy transport, OpenSSH comparison diagnostics, adaptive table layout, clearer tunnel-state coloring, and persistent English/Italian UI language selection with English as the default.

Highlights in 1.2.0

  • Added Settings → Language → English / Italiano with English as the default when no preference exists.

  • The selected language is persisted in the local data directory and is applied on the next application start.

  • Main window controls, filters, table labels, tunnel state labels, profile/proxy dialogs, vault/password dialogs, data-folder settings and tray actions now follow the selected language.

  • Language switching is intentionally restart-based so the application does not rebuild the UI while SSH tunnels may be active.

  • ACTIVE tunnel rows now use a true green background, including when selected; stopped rows remain red and the contextual ■ Ferma action remains red.

  • Removed the redundant STATO table column; the status filter remains available, while row color plus Avvia/Ferma communicate state directly.

  • Fixed wrapped NOME / INSTALLAZIONE cells so the table row recalculates its preferred height instead of clipping multiline text at the top or bottom.

  • FORWARDING and HOSTNAME / INDIRIZZO IP now wrap with dynamic row height and more adaptive column widths, reducing horizontal pressure on smaller displays.

  • Every Avvia action now writes copyable OpenSSH-equivalent commands into the tunnel activity panel for Windows PowerShell and Linux/POSIX.

  • The diagnostic commands explicitly use -F NUL on Windows and -F /dev/null on Linux so they do not read the user's OpenSSH config, matching Nexu's self-contained SSH behavior more closely.

  • The log explicitly states that Nexu uses Apache MINA SSHD and does not actually launch ssh.exe; the printed command is a parameter/forwarding comparison tool.

  • When a Nexu SOCKS5/HTTP CONNECT proxy is configured, the panel logs that transport separately because it is implemented internally and is not represented by an external OpenSSH ProxyCommand.

  • Includes the optional OpenSSH local configuration diagnostic from after rc.1, which compares ssh -G with ssh -F NUL/-F /dev/null -G and highlights ProxyJump, ProxyCommand, IdentityFile, HostName, User and Port differences.

  • Added per-profile connection routing: Direct, SOCKS5, or HTTP CONNECT.

  • Proxy host, port and optional username are stored with the profile; proxy passwords are requested when the tunnel starts and kept only in memory.

  • Existing v1/v2 profile files remain compatible and default to Direct; the new profile format is v3.

  • Added specific proxy diagnostics such as DNS failure, proxy timeout, authentication rejection, SOCKS5 failure and HTTP CONNECT failure.

  • FORWARDING_REJECTED now records the concrete forwarding request and points to the relevant SSH-server policy checks. For remote forwarding this includes AllowTcpForwarding, the required PermitListen listener, GatewayPorts when a non-loopback listener is requested, and possible Match/per-user restrictions.

  • 1.2.0 promotes the proxy transport, OpenSSH diagnostics, adaptive table improvements and bilingual UI from the release-candidate cycle into the stable release.

Security

Proxy passwords are not written to the profile configuration or exported as plain profile data. They remain session-only and are cleared by the existing “lock and forget in-memory secrets” action or when the application closes.

This release is unsigned. Validate proxy and SSH-server policy settings in your own environment before production use.

Nexu Port Forwarding 1.2.0

Italiano

Nexu Port Forwarding 1.2.0-rc.3

English

Third 1.2.0 release candidate with clearer state coloring and a more compact, adaptive tunnel table, while retaining the proxy and OpenSSH diagnostics from rc.1/rc.2.

New in this prerelease

  • The stable 1.1.0 release remains unchanged; this prerelease is for validating the new proxy transport on Windows and Linux.

Security

Proxy passwords are not written to the profile configuration or exported as plain profile data. They remain session-only and are cleared by the existing “lock and forget in-memory secrets” action or when the application closes.

This is an unsigned prerelease. Validate proxy and SSH-server policy settings in your own environment before production use.

Italiano

Nexu Port Forwarding v1.1.0

@github-actions github-actions released this 21 Sep 14:10

Nexu Port Forwarding 1.1.0

English

Stable 1.1.0 release with the tested Windows/Linux package set and the UI, import, diagnostics, packaging and SSH runtime improvements validated through the release-candidate cycle.

Highlights in 1.1.0

  • Removed the global Avvia visibili button from the main toolbar to avoid accidental bulk starts.

  • Moved Importa Tabby… and Importa MobaXterm… into the Profili menu, keeping import operations grouped with profile management.

  • Ferma tutti remains directly available in the toolbar for fast shutdown of active tunnels.

  • The row action is visually state-aware: ▶ Avvia is green on stopped/red rows, while ■ Ferma is red when a tunnel is running.

  • Long NOME values now expand the table row dynamically so wrapped text remains fully visible.

  • The right-side activity/log panel can be collapsed and reopened with a compact edge control, making the grid more usable on smaller screens.

  • INSTALLAZIONE, NOME, and HOSTNAME / INDIRIZZO IP now wrap automatically across multiple lines; INSTALLAZIONE and NOME can be edited directly in the grid with automatic persistence.

  • NOME cells now wrap onto multiple lines instead of truncating long labels with an ellipsis; table rows grow as needed while keeping a 62 px minimum height.

  • INSTALLAZIONE is shown again immediately before NOME in the main grid.

  • The broad free-text search has been replaced by three explicit text filters: Installazione, Nome, and Hostname / Indirizzo IP. Type and state remain separate structured filters.

  • Fixed native runtime packaging by including the JDK java.rmi module required by the packaged SSH stack; this resolves the reported missing java.rmi.ServerException failure.

  • The packaged SSH runtime smoke test now explicitly loads java.rmi.ServerException, so a native image missing this module cannot be published.

  • Row Avvia/Ferma controls are now one compact state-aware button; pressing it automatically selects the row and shows its tunnel log.

  • The activity/log area is now a right-side vertical panel beside the tunnel grid.

  • PORTA SSH is folded into the compact FORWARDING text (for example R · SSH:22 · SERVER[...] → PC → destination).

  • HOSTNAME and resolved INDIRIZZO IP are combined into one HOSTNAME / INDIRIZZO IP column; literal IP profiles show the IP only.

  • Fixed a packaged-runtime SSH startup failure that surfaced as ClassNotFoundException before any network connection was attempted.

  • Apache MINA SSHD now uses the NIO2 I/O backend explicitly instead of relying on runtime provider discovery inside jpackage images.

  • Added a packaged SSH runtime smoke test on both Windows and Linux; a native package is no longer published unless the packaged executable can initialize the SSH stack successfully.

  • Missing runtime classes are now reported as application/runtime errors, not misleading DNS/firewall/proxy failures.

  • Fixed vault/master-password dialog validation feedback after adding password reveal controls: invalid input now shows a specific persistent error message and focuses the field to correct; valid input closes the dialog normally.

  • Renamed rotating log files from nexu-0.log style names to nexu-port-forwarding-0.log, nexu-port-forwarding-1.log, etc. Existing older log files are left untouched.

  • Preflight local listener availability for LOCAL and DYNAMIC/SOCKS before SSH authentication. Occupied ports are reported immediately with a clear hint that another tunnel application (for example Tabby/MobaXterm) may already be using them.

  • Persistent logs now record sanitized diagnostic categories and safe context for recognized failures, while still excluding credentials and arbitrary raw exception text.

  • Inline-editable NOME with automatic persistence on Enter or focus loss.

  • INSTALLAZIONE is displayed directly before NOME in the main grid.

  • TIPO, ASCOLTO and DESTINAZIONE are condensed into one FORWARDING column with explicit listener-side arrows.

  • Separate command exports for Windows PowerShell, Windows CMD and Linux/POSIX; CMD no longer receives PowerShell quoting.

  • Password/passphrase fields include a show/hide eye control.

  • The AZIONI column is now the first table column.

  • SSH connection failures now distinguish DNS, TCP timeout, connection refused, no route, interrupted handshake and authentication failures. Timeout diagnostics explicitly state that the connection is direct and the operating-system HTTP/SOCKS proxy is not automatically used.

  • Main views ordered Active → Custom → Tabby → MobaXterm. Active contains only tunnels whose SSH forwarding state is ACTIVE.

  • Read-only Tabby import from config.yaml, with preview and Local/Remote/Dynamic forwarding conversion.

  • Read-only MobaXterm import from [PortForwarding] in MobaXterm.ini/.mobaconf; password sections and unrelated settings are ignored.

  • Imported rows become ordinary local Nexu Port Forwarding profiles. Reopening Tabby or MobaXterm is not required after import, and imports never auto-start tunnels.

  • Search uses dedicated Installazione, Nome, and Hostname / Indirizzo IP fields; forwarding type and state remain separate filters.

  • DYNAMIC (-D) SOCKS forwarding supported by the Apache MINA SSHD backend.

  • Storage layout: portable packages use sibling data/ and logs/; installed builds use the user parent nexu-port-forwarding/data/ and nexu-port-forwarding/logs/. Recognized 1.0.0 user-data files are copied once into data/ without deleting originals.

Safety

Importers do not copy Tabby/MobaXterm passwords, host trust, scripts or unrelated configuration. Unsupported connection proxies/jump-host behavior is skipped instead of silently becoming a direct connection. All imported tunnels start stopped.

This release is unsigned. Validate imports against your own configuration and deployment environment before production use.

Nexu Port Forwarding 1.1.0

Italiano

I vecchi file già esistenti restano invariati.

  • I log p...
