🚀 Overview

This release introduces a new hardware platform based on the ESP32-S2, expanding the IoT-Postbox project with a more powerful MCU, modular schematic, and support for future features like LoRa. The firmware and documentation have been updated for compatibility and clarity, while maintaining all previous mailbox and sensor functionalities.

🛠️ Hardware

  • IoT-Postbox v1 board pcb_desings/iot-postbox_v1/

    • New custom PCB design for ESP32-S2.
    • Modular schematic split into INTERFACE, MCU, and POWER sections.
    • Footprint and 3D model additions for ESP32-S2, LoRa (RFM95W), antennas, battery holders, and more.
    • Support for 16MB flash and 8MB PSRAM.
    • Digital triggers for wake-up (no longer using CH_PU pin).
    • BOM, Gerber files, and extensive documentation and images included.
    • Schematic v1.0
    • More information and differences between the previous board and the new one can be found under the pcb_desings/ readme.
  • KiCad Libraries

    • Added Espressif official KiCad libraries as a submodule.
    • New custom footprints and 3D models in pcb_desings/libs/.
