MySQL and SQLite database migration

How to Migrate from Rosewood's PlayerPoints to Cold Development PremiumPoints (SQLite & MySQL)

This guide will help you migrate your PlayerPoints data from Rosewood's plugin to the new version of PremiumPoints by Cold Development, whether you're using SQLite or MySQL.

Warning

Follow the steps carefully to ensure a smooth migration.

SQLite Migration Steps

Export the Data:

On your server, execute the following command to export your PlayerPoints data:

• /p export
• save the exported data storage.yml
• locate the storage.yml file created by the export command and save it in a secure location (you will need this later)
• delete the old plugin
• stop the server
• navigate to your server’s ~/plugins folder and delete the PlayerPoints folder and the PlayerPoints.jar file created by Rosewood Development
• install Cold Development’s PremiumPoints
• download the new PremiumPoints.jar from Cold Development's plugin
• drag and drop the file into your server's plugins folder
• start the server. This will generate a PremiumPoints folder

Restore the exported data:

• drag and drop the saved storage.yml file into the new ~/plugins/PremiumPoints folder

Import the Data:

• on your server, use the following command to start the import process:
• /p import
• Confirm the import by typing:
• /p import confirm

MySQL Migration Steps

Save the MySQL configuration:

Before making any changes, copy the MySQL configuration from config.yml in Rosewood's PlayerPoints plugin and save it in a secure location.

Delete the old plugin:

• stop the server
• delete the ~/plugins/PlayerPoints folder and PlayerPoints.jar created by Rosewood Development
• install Cold Development’s PremiumPoints
• download Cold Development’s PremiumPoints.jar and place it in your server's ~/plugins folder
• start the server to generate ~/plugins/PremiumPoints folder
• apply the MySQL configuration
• navigate to ~/plugins/PremiumPoints/config.yml
• paste your saved MySQL configuration into the new config.yml under the MySQL section
• restart the server
• after saving the config.yml file, restart your server
• the PremiumPoints plugin will now connect to your MySQL database
