Term Coder v1.30.0

Choose a tag to compare

@pagecow pagecow released this 08 Sep 13:45

Highlight

  • Orchestrator plan outline (your most-recent card): after the orchestrator decides what to do, a plan outline is pinned at the bottom of the conversation — each task shows a live spinner while unfinished and a checkmark when finished, updated in real time.
    • The orchestrator publishes its plan (with a note on why tasks run in parallel vs one-at-a-time) via a new report_plan tool, instructed in the system prompt to call it before spawning.
    • Status is not cosmetic: tasks link to session ids and track real session activity — WORKING → spinner, finished turn → checkmark, exited-with-error → error icon — via the auto-follow ticker. Spawning an agent adds its task automatically.
    • Rows never compress (scroll at max height), text wraps instead of clipping, finished plans can be cleared, state persists per conversation.

Also since v1.28.4: spawn wake-up recovery (orchestrator never loses a late-approved session — pairs with the ChatOSS 1.19.1 platform fix), post-spawn plan narration, chip-wrap fix.

28 test files green.

Term Coder v1.29.0

@pagecow pagecow released this 08 Sep 13:39

Highlights

  • Spawn wake-up (orchestrator never loses a late-approved session): when a launch-target approval is answered minutes after the orchestrator gave up, Term Coder now recovers the new session automatically — registers it, marks it orchestrator-owned so auto-follow resumes monitoring, notifies you, and drops a system note into the conversation. Pairs with the platform fix in ChatOSS 1.19.1 (terminal.sessionCreated event); degrades gracefully on older builds.
  • Chat UX: post-spawn plan narration instruction (orchestrator explains what it launched and why one vs parallel) + chip-wrap fix so tool-call names never truncate.
  • Verified composer cards: token estimator, project/branch bar, drag-and-drop image context, input-height reset — all confirmed implemented with regression tests.
  • Housekeeping: scratch dir gitignored.

Full changelog: 27 test files green; module architecture (js/00–24) unchanged.

Term Coder v1.28.4

@pagecow pagecow released this 01 Sep 15:05

Makes the project/branch bar instant and fixes the dead "Create new branch…" button.

Branch chip + popup were slow (~3-5s). Every git probe ran through the zsh login-shell wrapper, which costs ~1.2s of shell startup per command (measured: zsh -lic 1.17s vs bare git 0.03s), and two probes ran sequentially. pbGit now runs the bare git command first — git resolves under the sandbox's minimal PATH (Apple's /usr/bin/git) — and falls back to the login shell on any failure, so machines where git only exists on the full user PATH (or a CLT shim that errors with exit 1) still work.

No instant render. The popup awaited the fetch before showing anything and the chip reset to "—" on every project switch. Branch data is now cached per project and the last-known branch is persisted per project, so the popup renders instantly from cache (with a "Loading branches…" hint on first open) and the chip shows the persisted branch immediately, refreshing from git in the background. A fetch resolving after the popover closed or switched to create-row mode no longer clobbers the UI.

"+ Create new branch…" did nothing. The create handler replaced the popover's contents, detaching the button mid-click; the document-level outside-click handler then saw a target no longer inside the bar (contains() is false for detached nodes) and closed the popover instantly. The handler now stops propagation before replacing the contents.

Regression tests added for all three; the full suite (26 files) passes.

Fixes the branch selector under the composer, which always reported "Not a git repository (or git unavailable)" even inside a healthy repo.

Root cause — the branch list ran through the app's login-shell wrapper as zsh -lic "git for-each-ref --format=%(refname:short) refs/heads". Those wrapper double quotes are consumed before zsh parses the line, so zsh saw the bare %(refname:short) and aborted with zsh:1: missing end of string (exit 1) on every repo. git branch --show-current contains no parens and worked, which masked the real failure as 'not a git repository'.

Fix — the --format value is now single-quoted inside the command (--format='%(refname:short)'), so it survives every shell layer. Verified by replaying the exact wrapper against a real repo: exit 1 → exit 0 with the full branch list. Regression test added; full suite (26 files) passes.

Term Coder v1.28.2

@pagecow pagecow released this 01 Sep 13:48

Fixes the v1.28.1 update failure and the preview warnings.

v1.28.1 was broken — its .aip was missing index.html, so updating failed with "The entry file index.html is missing from the archive." This release's archive contains the entry file, style.css, app.json, and the icon at the root (verified), and the release build now derives its file list from index.html + app.json so this class of bug cannot recur.

Preview warnings fixed — detection probes no longer log a warning per failed probe (25 per scan when the terminal capability is off). Expected outcomes are silent and the scan short-circuits.

Includes everything from v1.28.0/v1.28.1: chatoss launch as the only agent launch path (opencode / claude-code / codex), the Install chatoss command guidance, legacy default migration, and the restored stylesheet.

⚠️ BROKEN BUILD — superseded by v1.28.2. This release's .aip is missing index.html, so updating fails with "The entry file index.html is missing from the archive." Install v1.28.2 instead.

@pagecow pagecow released this 01 Sep 12:23

⚠️ BROKEN BUILD — superseded by v1.28.1. This release's .aip was built without style.css, so the app installed with NO CSS (unstyled UI). Do not install this one; install v1.28.1 instead. The functional changes (chatoss launch only, Install chatoss command guidance) are unchanged in v1.28.1.

Term Coder v1.27.0

Polish: all model effort selectors now show bare level names only — 'Low', 'Medium', 'High', 'Extra high', 'Max', 'Model default' — with no ' — description' suffix. The descriptive wording still lives where it belongs: in the effort brief injected into agent task briefs.

Term Coder v1.26.2

@pagecow pagecow released this 31 Aug 16:23

Fix: the Model Selection dropdowns now include ollama CLOUD models that are not yet registered in the local ollama store — e.g. glm-5.3:cloud and glm-5.3-flash:cloud. The scanner previously merged only 'local'-tagged entries from the ChatOSS model list, silently dropping everything tagged 'cloud'. Now merged: local entries + cloud entries whose id carries ollama's :cloud marker; custom entries from other providers are still skipped. Also removed the descriptive paragraph under MODEL SELECTION MODE (the radio rows are self-explanatory).

Term Coder v1.26.1

@pagecow pagecow released this 31 Aug 16:06

Fix: Model Selection Mode behaves as a model picker again.

  • 'Always use a specific model' (and the complexity rows) now default to and highlight an AI MODEL — ollama models are listed first and a blank selection lands on the first model instead of the direct CLI. Direct CLIs (claude / codex / opencode) remain selectable as a clearly-labeled 'runs its own model' group.
  • Section copy is model-first throughout: intro, radio titles and subs, manual-mode hint, and the TARGET label are now MODEL. Effort pairing is unchanged.
  • Resolution semantics untouched; new regression suite executes the real select-packing code and pins the copy.
