New Features

  • Column view in Path Explorer: browse files in Finder-style columns, expand folder hierarchies continuously, resize columns, and navigate quickly with the arrow keys.
  • JPEG XL and broader direct format support: open and preview JXL images directly, with expanded support for dozens of archive, data, and code formats including BZIP2, CAB, LZMA, XZ, TGZ, GeoJSON, GPX, KML, GraphQL, HCL, Nix, Prisma, Protobuf, TSV, Verilog, and VHDL.
  • Five new interface languages: OpenFiles is now available in German, Spanish, French, Portuguese, and Russian across both the desktop app and website.

Improvements

  • More complete file navigation and format recognition: the Windows sidebar now shows every available drive, thumbnails remain visible in split file browsers, and more formats have distinctive, consistent icons.
  • Higher-fidelity Markdown exports: exported HTML and PDF now correctly include local images, KaTeX math fonts, task lists, footnotes, and expanded details, with improved diagram, code-block, and page-break layout.
  • Upgraded runtime and bundled renderers: updated Electron and the calendar, PDF, 3D, animation, charting, and file-parsing components for broader compatibility and improved stability.
  • More complete Hub localization: search prompts, recent-item labels, and app entries in Hub now consistently follow the selected interface language.
  • Unified diagram themes and Mermaid layout: Markdown previews and standalone Mermaid, PlantUML, and Graphviz viewers now share the same light or dark theme selection. Mermaid also uses consistent font sizing, long-label wrapping, and non-HTML labels across entry points.

Fixes

  • Fixed Markdown previews not following the active light or dark theme, and improved diagram text, code blocks, and tables across themes.
  • Fixed standard HTML pages without explicit background or text colors becoming black-on-black in system dark mode. The HTML viewer now provides a Chrome-compatible light canvas fallback while respecting page-defined backgrounds and themes.
  • Fixed mind-map note previews being hidden behind the canvas or clipped near its edges.
  • Fixed incorrect foreground colors in some CAD drawings and OFD documents using page-level PageArea data failing to open.
  • Fixed legacy encrypted AI provider keys being treated as usable configurations. Affected providers now clearly prompt you to re-enter the API key.
