v1.3.4
Create Dashboard works again on Home Assistant 2026.x.
On current Home Assistant, pressing Create Dashboard raised AttributeError: 'LovelaceData' object has no attribute 'dashboard_collection' and made no dashboard. The button now finds Home Assistant's dashboard list in the place newer versions keep it, and still works on older versions.
Update through HACS and restart Home Assistant.
Pressing Create Dashboard replaces an existing
mak-grilldashboard. If you customized yours by hand, don't press it.
Full change: #3
v1.3.3
What's changed
- No false flameout while warming up. Flameout now only counts once the pit has come up to temperature (within 35°F of the target). Before, the 8-minute timer started the moment the grill reached ON, so a hot cook could flag a flameout while the grill was still climbing.
- Setpoints above 450°F. A MAK holds about 450°F at most, so a higher setpoint (the slider still goes to 500°F) is judged against 450°F. Flameout no longer stays on for the whole cook.
- Failed light. A cook that never comes up to temperature within 45 minutes is reported as a flameout.
- README. Adds an example "up to temp" phone alert: one alert per setpoint per cook, beeps on Android even on silent.
No change to grill control, the commands sent to the grill, at-setpoint, or the dashboard.
v1.3.2 was published by mistake with the v1.3.1 code. Skip it.
v1.3.2 (mistake: same code as v1.3.1, use v1.3.3)
Skip this release. It was published from main before the flameout fix was merged, so it contains the v1.3.1 code (manifest still says 1.3.1). Install v1.3.3 instead.
v1.3.1
What's changed
- Honest temperatures. Pit and probe sensors now read unknown when the grill is off or disconnected, instead of a fake 0°F after a restart or a frozen last reading after a cook. History shows gaps instead of drops to 0.
- Unplugged probes read unknown instead of 0°F.
- Dashboard: the generated dashboard shows the pit gauge only while there is a reading, with a Connected / Power State card in its place when the grill is off, so no "non-numeric" warning appears. Press Create Dashboard again to get the new layout. Note that it replaces the existing MAK Grill dashboard.
- Power switch now reflects what the grill actually reports, including ignition (
START). It no longer reads ON while the grill is off, disconnected or cooling down.
No change to grill control, flameout detection or at-setpoint.
