Polaris v1.3.2 is a reliability release focused on stream lifecycle, Linux private-session isolation, reconnect recovery, and truthful host diagnostics.
Highlights
- Added first-class Linux stream-mode and private-runtime selection, including Gamescope Stream and Headless Dongle paths while retaining compatibility with legacy headless settings.
- Hardened Gamescope ownership and nested teardown with generation-pinned socket reclamation, shared shell/C++ locking, atomic session credentials, exact private-SID/pidfd cleanup, and fail-closed portal/idle recovery.
- Hardened RTSP follow-up control admission, live-session command ownership, session teardown, portal/PipeWire release ordering, and serialized PulseAudio operations.
- Prevented private-stream controller input from also navigating host Steam Big Picture while preserving normal game input.
- Hardened private Steam teardown and relaunch ordering, including waiting for the prior Steam singleton to be fully released without broadly terminating desktop Steam.
- Preserved authenticated web sessions across host restarts and improved recovery from transient host outages.
- Tolerated near-target stream FPS so healthy sessions are not mislabeled as degraded, and improved Linux GPU/capture-path diagnostics.
- Added path-aware Dashboard preview and web configuration for the Linux runtime and capture modes included in this release.
- Updated the Browser Stream WebTransport stack to
webtransport-go v0.11.1/quic-go v0.60.0, fixing remote memory exhaustion from unknown capsule buffering (CVE-2026-57497 / GHSA-g35j-m5xg-vh3q).

Packages install Polaris and its web console. Host integration remains an explicit sudo polaris --setup-host step.
Known validation limitation
End-to-end Control gameplay, streaming, audio, and controller validation against the final Polaris/Nova pair was not completed because the generic-handheld harness remained incompatible. The candidate was never activated in those failed harness attempts and is not implicated; release policy accepted this missing smoke as non-blocking. This release does not claim that integration smoke passed.
Issue #211 remains open as a known non-blocking Linux headless capture/conversion issue demonstrated on Polaris 1.3.1; it is not established as a 1.3.2 regression.
