Byte Blaster v1.0.7
Byte Blaster v1.0.7 Patch Release
This patch release introduces smooth deceleration gliding on telemetry loss to protect motors and ESCs from high-current active brake spikes, adds an explicit toggle to completely disable the onboard NeoPixel status LED, ensures live solenoid dwell metrics are captured and streamed reliably, and refines the Web Configurator layout.
Highlights & Key Improvements
-
Telemetry Loss Deceleration Glide:
- Transitions to a smooth decel glide instead of instantly commanding DShot 0 when ESC bidirectional telemetry drops for >80ms under load.
- Eliminates severe regenerative braking current spikes, voltage transients, and mechanical shock that occur when active braking is slammed at 35,000+ RPM.
- Immediate DShot 0 cuts are strictly reserved for physical motor stalls.
-
NeoPixel Hardware Disable Option:
- Adds a new configuration setting and EEPROM entry (
led_enabled) to completely disable the onboard RGB NeoPixel status LED. - When disabled, no strip bit-banging or timer pausing takes place, providing an absolute zero-jitter option for sensitive setups.
- Added dedicated toggle switch in the Web Configurator User Preferences section and Serial CLI support (
settings set led_enabled 0/1).
- Adds a new configuration setting and EEPROM entry (
-
Guaranteed Solenoid Telemetry & Stream Latch:
- Implements a hardware stream event latch (
solenoidPulseStreamPending) in firmware so that even sub-50ms solenoid pulses are guaranteed to be captured by the 50ms USB telemetry sampler. - Emits the exact latched shot dwell (
SON:<ms>) in telemetry lines even after the pulse de-energizes.
- Implements a hardware stream event latch (
-
Configurator Live Metrics Grid Refinement:
- Relocated the "Shot Solenoid" metric into the dedicated live telemetry metrics grid right above the RPM Timeline alongside System Health, Motion State, Target RPM, Motor 1 RPM, and Motor 2 RPM.
- The badge now cleanly and persistently displays the actual solenoid dwell and voltage compensation used for each shot without reverting to blank.
