VL PDF 0.3.45
The app is called VL PDF now, in the window, the menus, About, the help and all thirteen languages.
It still installs as Filekin Studio — same folder, same shortcut, same update feed — so this updates your existing copy in place and keeps your recent documents and saved signatures. Renaming that part would have installed a second app beside the one you have.
A new app icon, drawn twenty times instead of resized eight times.
The old icon was one picture squeezed to eight sizes. Windows draws the taskbar at 36 pixels on a 150% display and there was no 36, so it stretched the 32 — on the most visible surface in the product. Below 24 pixels the "PDF" lettering could not survive at any size.
There are now twenty sizes in four tiers, each one its own drawing: no PDF lettering below 24, no folded corner at 16, a flat V at the small and medium sizes, and the full shaded V at 128 and 256. The in-app, website and review-page marks each use the drawing made for their own size too.
Checked before release
- 1,347 automated tests, 0 failures
- 97 of 97 interface checks against the built application
- All 20 icon frames confirmed inside the packaged executable, byte for byte against the approved artwork, 36 included
- The artwork pack's own verifier, including its negative control
- Signed with the Vivenso Labs test certificate, as before
Known, and not fixed here
- Some help text still says "Filekin" on its own ("Filekin asks the update service"). That is wider than this change and is listed rather than swept in.
- The installer, the Start menu entry and Add or Remove Programs still read Filekin Studio. That rename needs its own migration.
