If you're a JavaScript frontend developer who is well-versed in Svelte, or can write connectors to backend services, you can help create the built-in Parula apps for the most basic user tasks:

Clock

Status: DONE Prototype

Reminder

Status: DONE in Pia Say:

  • Later: Remind me of this tomorrow, whereas this is the web page you're looking at right now

Shopping list and TODO list

Music

  • Play the song
  • Control playback: Skip to next song, repeat, volume up/down etc.

Your music collection

Status: DONE in Pia

  • Search for song or artist
  • Play more songs from the same artist

Using:

Radio

Say:

  • Play house music
  • Play the station RPR1

Using:

  • Internet radio stations
  • Including local radio stations close to the user
  • List of 1000s of radio stations, classified by their genre

Weather

  • Show current weather: Temp, Humidity, Rain etc.
  • Show forecast for tomorrow and the coming days
  • Know the user's location

Wikipedia

  • Show Wikipedia articles with a nice, simplified UI
  • Download entire Wikipedia (5 GB) on device, for offline / fallback use

Lights

  • Turn on/off specific lights

Smart home

  • Connect to existing Open smart-home systems
  • Voice control: Parula accepts voice commands to control devices connected to the smart home central
  • UI: Parula shows a virtual representation of your house, and the smart devices in each room, shows their state, and allows to change them
  • (Later) Information input: Changes in the smart devices are pushed from the smart home central into Parula, allowing automation on the Parula side. Parula allows to create routines using simple voice commands like: "When I come home, turn on the light in the hall way and the living room."

TV

  • Control your TV with voice commands
  • UI: Control the TV visually with a simple UI. (Shows after you issued a voice command to the TV. This allows follow-up commands, like switching channels or adjusting volume multiple times.)
