@patil88ganesh patil88ganesh released this 05 Sep 15:47

Continue counting removed

This replacement release removes the Continue counting and Stop counting this site options introduced in 2.8.0.

  • Focus Protection again pauses normally on every selected website.
  • The Windows and macOS menus no longer include Continue counting.
  • Visit-scoped override state and browser-to-app token delivery have been removed.
  • Existing stopwatch, countdown timer, lock-aware pause, Focus Protection, and My stats (mini) behavior remains available.
  • Includes replacement packages for Windows, macOS Apple silicon, and macOS Intel.

After installing the update, reload the unpacked Chrome/Edge extension to activate the restored browser behavior.

Downloads

  • Windows: ProductivityTracker-Setup.exe
  • macOS Apple silicon: ProductivityTracker-macOS-arm64.app.zip
  • macOS Intel: ProductivityTracker-macOS-x64.app.zip

The macOS packages are ad-hoc signed and not notarized. The Windows installer is not yet backed by a trusted OV/EV or Microsoft Artifact Signing certificate, so operating-system or browser reputation warnings may still appear.

Continue counting for work-related browsing

  • Adds Continue counting when Focus Protection pauses on selected websites.
  • Counts the approved visit in My stats (mini) while preserving session-lock pausing.
  • Limits approval to the exact protected tab/site visit using a random opaque token; URLs, domains, page content, and browsing history remain inside the browser.
  • Adds Stop counting this site to cancel the override immediately.
  • Keeps brief tracker interactions working through a 30-second same-visit handoff.
  • Includes equivalent Windows, macOS Apple silicon, and macOS Intel implementations.

After installing the update, reload the unpacked Chrome/Edge extension so the new visit-token protocol is active.

Downloads

  • Windows: ProductivityTracker-Setup.exe
  • macOS Apple silicon: ProductivityTracker-macOS-arm64.app.zip
  • macOS Intel: ProductivityTracker-macOS-x64.app.zip

The macOS packages are ad-hoc signed and not notarized. The Windows installer is not yet backed by a trusted OV/EV or Microsoft Artifact Signing certificate, so operating-system or browser reputation warnings may still appear.

My stats (mini)

  • Added My stats (mini) to the right-click menu on Windows and macOS.
  • Opens a compact report attached to the tracker with Date | Day | Hours columns.
  • Shows today and the previous six local calendar days, newest first.
  • Days without active tracked time display NA.
  • Counts only time when the stopwatch or countdown is actively running.
  • Excludes manual pauses, locked-session pauses, Focus Protection pauses, and app-closed time.
  • Persists totals locally across restarts and handles countdown deadlines, midnight, and daylight-saving transitions.
  • The widget follows the tracker, matches its opacity, and hides/restores with minimization.

Statistics begin accumulating after version 2.7.0 is installed; earlier dates initially display NA.

  • An exclamation badge indicates that the desktop app or native host is not connected.
  • Added Gmail, Google Drive, Docs, Sheets, and Slides.
  • Active URLs remain inside the browser; only a boolean active/inactive signal is sent.

After installing 2.6.0, open chrome://extensions or edge://extensions and click Reload on the unpacked Productivity Tracker Focus Protection extension. This activates the new domain permissions and background worker.
