Verification and limitations
Windows installers are unsigned hobby releases. SHA-256 sidecars are included: use shasum -a 256 -c *.sha256 on macOS, sha256sum --check *.sha256 on Linux, or compare Windows Get-FileHash <download> -Algorithm SHA256 with its sidecar.
Pair only on a trusted LAN: pairing transfers the long-lived key over local HTTP. Pairing codes expire after 30 minutes and are single-use; authenticated requests use HMAC and replay checks. This is not intended for exposure to the internet.
Automated release checks cover Linux, macOS, Windows, packaging, and the native companion. Real-device testing confirmed Decky wake/sleep, a Mac authenticated sleep/wake cycle, and Windows tray behavior on pre-release candidates. Final UI/security fixes passed automated checks; exhaustive display-scaling, streaming-cycle, and uninstall acceptance testing was not completed. Exact SteamOS/Decky and Windows build numbers were not recorded.
