EasyPDM Wiki

EasyPDM is where your Parts and Assemblies get one, shared order for the whole team: every item has its own number, revision, status and change history, and assemblies get a ready-made bill of materials (BOM). No more bracket_v3_FINAL_FOR_REAL.SLDPRT on a shared drive and the question "which version is the current one?". Macros for SolidWorks, Autodesk Inventor, and FreeCAD send and fetch files straight from within the CAD program — everything else (the browser app, material/manufacturer catalogs, BOM) works the same regardless of what you design in.

Want to try it before installing anything? There's a public demo, database reset daily: https://easypdmdemo.celmer.info/

What it gives you

  • One number, one history — every Part and Assembly gets an automatically assigned number no one else will ever get again, with a full history of who changed what, when, and which revision is current.
  • Instant bill of materials — an assembly shows its own components with quantities, material, manufacturer, order numbers — ready to export to CSV.
  • Shared catalogs — materials, manufacturers, and clients, picked from a list instead of retyped by hand every time.
  • Search across the whole company database, not just the current project.
  • Item locking — while you're working on something, no one else can overwrite your changes without your consent.
  • Client verification — a per-project record of what the client said about each released item, with the confirming e-mail attached, so "did they actually accept it?" stops being a question for someone's memory.
  • Notifications — a bell icon shows what needs your attention.

Where to go next

  • Installation — Windows, Linux (Docker or native), and first login.
  • Using EasyPDM — projects, order documents, item kinds, statuses/revisions, locking, BOM, client verification, search — the day-to-day browser workflow.
  • CAD Integrations — installing and using the SolidWorks, Inventor, and FreeCAD macros.
  • Technical Overview — architecture, data model, and API, for administrators and developers.

Elsewhere

This wiki is a companion to the documentation shipped in the repository itself (the README.md/TECHNICAL.md files, also available in Polish and German) — it summarizes things and points you at the right place rather than duplicating everything, so it won't go stale as the app evolves. When in doubt, the file in the repo is the authoritative version.
