RAWmakase 0.4.5 applies the lens corrections cameras store in their RAW files, as Lightroom does: distortion, chromatic aberration and, where Lightroom uses it, vignetting for Olympus and OM System, Panasonic, Nikon Z and Coolpix, Sony, Samsung and Canon EOS R5 Mark II and R6 Mark III photos, with no Adobe lens profile needed. Corrections are now centred on the lens's optical axis and framed as Lightroom frames them. Photos in subfolders can be hidden, folders holding only subfolders can be located, the decoded photo cache can move to another drive, imported presets can be updated, renamed and deleted, and a synced Auto straighten is measured on each photo.

New

  • Lens corrections from the camera's own data. Photos from these cameras are corrected out of the box, as Lightroom corrects them, without importing an Adobe profile:
    • Olympus and OM System: distortion and lateral chromatic aberration. (#639)
    • Panasonic and Leica's Panasonic-made cameras: distortion and lateral chromatic aberration. (#639, #640)
    • Nikon Z: distortion, vignetting and lateral chromatic aberration. Lenses that need correction are corrected by default; for the others, ticking Enable Profile Corrections applies the camera's profile when no Adobe profile is imported, as in Lightroom. (#641)
    • Nikon Coolpix P950, P1000 and P1100: distortion and lateral chromatic aberration. (#646)
    • Samsung NX (NX200 and later), NX mini, EX2F and Galaxy NX: distortion and lateral chromatic aberration, except for lenses Lightroom corrects with its own profile. (#643)
    • Canon EOS R5 Mark II and R6 Mark III: distortion, vignetting and lateral chromatic aberration with Enable Profile Corrections ticked. (#645)
  • Show Photos in Subfolders can be turned off. A folder's right-click menu has a checked Show Photos in Subfolders item, as in Lightroom's Library menu. With it off, a folder shows only the photos directly in it. (#644)
  • Folders that hold only subfolders can be located. Every folder row now offers Locate this folder…, so a moved shoot whose folder holds only card folders is relinked in one step. (#647, #593)
  • The decoded photo cache can live on another drive. Preferences ▸ Performance ▸ Decoded photo cache has Choose Folder… and Use Default. (#638, #609)
  • Imported presets can be updated, renamed and deleted from their right-click menu, as presets made in RAWmakase already could. The first update keeps the imported original in the data folder's preset-backups. Every preset file also has Reveal in Finder (Show in Explorer / Show in File Manager). (#637, #598)

Improved

  • Sony's lateral chromatic aberration is corrected by default, and so is the distortion of the fixed-lens compacts (RX100, RX10, RX0, HX and ZV-1 series), as Lightroom applies them. Sony's distortion and vignetting tables for interchangeable lenses stand in for an Adobe profile only when Enable Profile Corrections is ticked and none is imported. (#642)
  • Lens corrections are centred on the optical axis and framed as in Lightroom. Corrections from the camera's data, DNG files and imported Adobe profiles now use the optical centre they record, and the photo is zoomed only as far as its edges need. Corrected geometry now agrees with Camera Raw to within about a pixel where it was up to tens of pixels off, for example on a Nikon Z5 II in DX crop. (#649)
  • A synced or pasted Auto straighten is measured on each photo. Sync Settings and Copy/Paste Settings of the Crop now straighten each photo as clicking Auto on it would, instead of giving every photo the first photo's angle. (#648, #594)

Fixed

  • The profile Distortion and Vignetting amounts no longer weaken corrections the camera always applies. They scale an Adobe profile, or camera data standing in for one, as in Lightroom; Fujifilm's and DNG files' own corrections, for example, now render in full whatever the amounts. (#642)
  • Pressing Enter keeps a mask's new name. Renaming a mask and pressing Enter left the field open and dropped the name. (#630, #629)

Upgrade notes

  • Photos from the cameras above look different: their geometry, framing and corner colour fringes are now corrected. Edits keep their saved values; Sony edits saved with built-in corrections switched off keep them off.
  • Library previews are rebuilt once after updating, so the first visit to a large folder takes longer.
  • Not covered: the Coolpix A1000, whose lens data does not match Lightroom's correction, and Canon PowerShot compacts, which Lightroom corrects with Adobe's own data: import Adobe's profile for them. On a few Sony compacts (RX0, RX0 II, HX95, ZV-1 II, RX100 V A) the corrected distortion still differs from Lightroom's by a few pixels at the corners.

Thanks to @schulze1963 for asking for Micro Four Thirds lens corrections, which started this work (#636), @mjparry31-ship-it for the Auto straighten and preset menu requests (#594, #598), @EttVenter for the folder locating problem (#593), @RosomakPL for the cache location (#609) and @taigenetsudo-code for the mask renaming bug (#629).
