  • M3U and M3U8 playlist support

The internal playback engine supports common formats including:

  • MP3
  • FLAC
  • ALAC
  • AAC
  • M4A
  • MP4 audio
  • WMA
  • Ogg Vorbis

Additional formats may work through compatible 32-bit Winamp input plug-ins.

Playlist and Library Improvements

PeaceAmp is designed to remain responsive with large local music collections.

This release includes:

  • Fast playlist search
  • Dragging complete folders into the playlist
  • Automatic metadata-based track names
  • File-name fallback when metadata is unavailable
  • Current-track navigation
  • Persistent playlist state
  • Optional automatic loading from the bundled music folder

Album Artwork

Artwork is loaded using the following priority:

  1. Embedded album artwork
  2. cover.png
  3. cover.jpg
  4. folder.png
  5. folder.jpg
  6. Other supported images in the track folder

Winamp Plug-in Compatibility

PeaceAmp includes an experimental 32-bit compatibility host for classic Winamp plug-ins.

Supported plug-in categories:

  • Input plug-ins: in_*.dll
  • Output plug-ins: out_*.dll

Third-party Winamp plug-ins are not included with PeaceAmp.

Compatibility varies significantly between plug-ins. Some plug-ins depend on undocumented Winamp behavior, private services, registry entries, additional runtime libraries, or files from an existing Winamp installation.

Only use plug-ins from sources you trust.

Installation

  1. Download PeaceAmp_v43_public.zip.
  2. Extract the entire ZIP file.
  3. Keep the included folder structure unchanged.
  4. Run PeaceAmp.exe.

Do not run the application directly from inside the ZIP archive.

Do not remove files from the bin directory, as they may be required by the player or compatibility host.

Known Limitations

  • Winamp plug-in compatibility is still experimental.
  • Some plug-ins may fail to initialize or may crash.
  • Some plug-ins may require additional DLLs or an original Winamp installation.
  • Only 32-bit Winamp plug-ins are supported by the current compatibility host.
  • Raw AAC compatibility may vary depending on the file.
  • Some uncommon or malformed files may not play correctly.
  • Visualizer behavior may vary between audio formats and output methods.
  • Switching between certain third-party decoders may interrupt playback.
  • Windows 11 has not yet been tested as extensively as Windows 10.

When reporting a problem, please include:

  • PeaceAmp version
  • Windows version
  • Audio file format

Security Notice
