MeterUsage 0.3.0-beta.3, build 61

This opt-in macOS beta adds a separate API connections page, saved-key recovery and desktop-provider setup improvements. Apple silicon, macOS 13 or later. The app is Developer ID signed, notarized and stapled.

Changes since beta.1

  • Set up OpenAI API and Anthropic API billing in Settings → API connections. Use a masked one-time Admin key or Use saved key to read that provider's legacy MeterUsage Keychain entry. Original saved keys stay intact; pasted keys are not saved.
  • Preload the tray usage window after completed onboarding so the first click reuses its renderer. Native first-click latency remains unmeasured.
  • Connect Antigravity Desktop for account allowance, with compact model groups. Its CLI activity stays separate.
  • Connect Grok Bot Desktop (Beta) after consent. Recent same-account allowance readings can show quota burn in percentage points per hour. Broad compatibility and live burn-rate acceptance remain incomplete.
  • Use local OpenCode Go session history without an API key. Existing Go authentication separately supplies allowance. Bun-installed OpenCode is discovered again.
  • Read compact token totals and consistent heatmaps across providers. Exact counts remain in tooltips and accessibility labels.
  • Show the running app's version in Settings and refresh the documentation and demo screenshots.

Install or update

  1. Download MeterUsage-0.3.0-beta.3-mac-arm64.zip and SHA256SUMS below. Run shasum -a 256 -c SHA256SUMS in the download directory.
  2. Quit MeterUsage. Preserve your existing app and saved data for rollback outside Applications, then replace /Applications/MeterUsage.app with the unzipped app.
  3. Open MeterUsage. Keep one normally installed app and do not run both editions against the same profile.

No developer tools are required. Beta updates are manual. Swift 0.2.41 remains the stable download; this prerelease does not change stable update routing.

Beta limits

Codex account history depends on provider-reported availability. Claude Desktop provides allowance only, with no Desktop chat-token history; some accounts have no allowance token. API cards show provider cost reports separately from subscriptions and local estimates. Anthropic Priority Tier costs are excluded, and provider dashboards remain the billing source of record.

OpenAI saved-key recovery through the installed signed helper succeeded. Live Settings button acceptance, Anthropic billing, invoice completeness, native first-click timing, live Grok burn rate, and broader keyboard, offline, update/rollback and multi-display acceptance remain incomplete. Desktop compatibility can change with provider apps. Windows and Intel Mac binaries are not included.

See the beta guide, API setup, screenshots and privacy. Screenshots use synthetic demo data.

Build source: c2d092cb92180b37a686582a904dbd0129bc371c. The release tag adds documentation and screenshots only. Matching validation passed 739 tests across 28 files on macOS, TypeScript, native helper compilation and production packaging; exact-source CI also passed Swift build and tests. These checks do not close the native acceptance gaps above.
