Everything below has landed since 0.1.0 beta 3.

Highlights

  • Compare to... — a new "Compare to..." menu next to each Configuration History/Automatic Backup entry shows a field-by-field diff before you decide whether to restore: against the current live settings, or against any other visible entry from either store. Secrets are excluded from both sides identically, so a redacted stored password can never appear to "differ" from a real one.
  • Cleanup: removed a broken test file (test_trace_replay.py) that referenced two tools which never existed anywhere in this repo's history.
  • README refresh — a current Dashboard screenshot showing client identification, Configuration History, and Automatic Backups, alongside the existing topology and settings screenshots.

With this release, every feature from the original project vision plus both post-vision stretch goals (this diff view, and the extended two-entry compare) have shipped. Concurrent multi-site monitoring was considered and deliberately deferred — see the roadmap.

Install

  1. Download AirPort-Utility-0.1.0-beta.4-macos.zip.
  2. Verify its SHA-256 checksum if desired.
  3. Unzip it and move AirPort Utility.app to Applications.
  4. Open the app. Because this beta is ad-hoc signed rather than notarized, macOS may require you to Control-click the app, choose Open, and confirm the first launch.

Requirements

  • macOS 13 or newer, Apple Silicon
  • Network access to the AirPort base station and its administrator password
  • No system python3 required — the backend ships self-contained inside the app
