macOS: signed and notarized — download, unzip, and double-click; requires macOS 14+ on Apple Silicon. Linux: the textchum-gtk tarballs need GTK 4.14+, libadwaita 1.5+, GtkSourceView 5, and WebKitGTK 6 at runtime (Ubuntu 24.04+, Fedora 40+); optional extras: hunspell + a dictionary for prose spell check, universal-ctags for the no-server fallback.
