Pando v1.1.0
Pando v1.1.0
Seventh stable version of Pando, for Windows with WebView2. Published on
2026-10-17, built and signed by the release workflow from commit a163d4a
(tag v1.1.0).
A MINOR version: new features and fixes, compatible with 1.0.0. Settings, the
saved workspace and documented shortcuts carry over unchanged.
What's new
- Orbit, a built-in image theme: a NASA photo of Earth seen from space as
the wallpaper, with colors drawn from it. It sits in Settings → Theme next to
Default and Paper, with a thumbnail. - New first-run setup: a daytime sky with the PANDO wordmark, and a step of
its own to pick a theme, with a preview that changes as you pick. - Your own agent sounds: in Settings → AI agents, Custom file for Done
or Action required takes a WAV, MP3 or OGG file up to 2 MB. Pando plays up to
5 seconds of it at the volume of the built-in sounds, and falls back to the
default sound if the file goes missing. - Working indicator: Settings → Appearance offers six animations for a tab
with an agent at work. Diamond is still the default. - Local servers in the tab name: while a command listens on a port, such as
npm run dev, the tab readslocalhost:5173and shows a server icon. - Commits behind the
↑ ↓counter: clicking it shows thegit logof what
you have not pushed and of what is waiting upstream, as terminal output above
the bar, with search and the time of the last fetch. - Essentials in the color of their icon: the active one is tinted with the
icon's main color, with a border that follows the icon's colors. - Tab column drag feels physical: the tab lifts and follows the pointer, the
others slide apart, and the target group lights up in its color. A collapsed
group opens when you hold a tab over it. - Board cards: a live clock for the agent's turn or for the time a session
waits for you, a branch icon, and a solid background that stands out over an
image. - New app icon: a black panda mark on white.
Fixes
- Light themes and Claude Code: terminals tell command-line programs whether
the theme is light or dark, so Claude's "Auto" theme picks its light colors;
its ANSI themes no longer draw your messages on a dark band over a background
image; dimmed text is readable and letters are no longer thin over an image. - A Claude or Codex conversation comes back when you reopen Pando, even if you
joined its tab into a split or moved it to another window just before
closing. - A terminal opened without a folder starts in your user folder, and so does
the file tree. Right after installing, it used to start inDownloads. - The file tree follows the tab you switch to.
- Dropping a tab between two groups, or below the last one, puts it in the
nearest group instead of doing nothing. - The
↑ ↓counter stays in the terminal bar of a split pane down to about
660 px.
The full list is in the project changelog.
Compatibility
- No incompatible change to settings, the saved workspace or documented
shortcuts. The new options start at their defaults (Diamond indicator,
built-in sounds). - Picking Orbit replaces a background image you chose before, like any image
theme.
Install and update
- On 1.0.0 or earlier: Pando shows Update now when it opens, or within
four hours. Settings, themes and history are kept. - New install: download
Pando_1.1.0_x64-setup.exefrom the release page.
The installer has no Authenticode certificate; Windows may show "Windows
protected your PC" (More info → Run anyway). - winget:
