First public release of Perxel AI Translate — a free, open-source WordPress plugin that bulk-translates WPML content through the OpenRouter API, with an AI model of your choice. You pay OpenRouter directly for usage; no plugin fee, no WPML AI translation credits spent.

Highlights

  • A Perxel AI Translate… bulk action and a Translate this page toolbar item both land on a Translation screen with a cost and word-count estimate before anything runs.
  • Translates titles and slugs, excerpt and content (HTML and page-builder shortcodes like [vc_row] preserved), ACF text/textarea/WYSIWYG fields, Rank Math SEO meta, taxonomy terms and the featured image — written straight into WordPress as WPML translations.
  • The AI model is a setting; each run snapshots the model id and its rates so historical cost stays correct.
  • Resumable runs, optional batched requests, and a full History of every run.

Requires WPML (Multilingual CMS or higher) with at least two active languages, and an OpenRouter API key.
