v1.1.0
This release improves benchmarking stability in pgcompare by adding optional warmup runs before measured queries.
Warmup helps reduce noise from cold starts, cache misses, and one-time initialization costs, so before/after comparisons better reflect steady-state query performance.
What's new
- added optional
warmup_iterationssupport before measured query execution - kept warmup separate from measured benchmark statistics
- updated the configuration example to include warmup settings
- improved README and RU documentation with warmup guidance
- expanded tests for config validation, benchmark behavior, and e2e coverage
- updated the README logo with a white background for better visibility on GitHub
Why it matters
The very first execution of a query can be slower for reasons unrelated to the optimization itself.
With warmup enabled, pgcompare can produce cleaner and more reliable measurements when comparing two database states.
Configuration example
benchmark:
before_queries: queries_before.sql
after_queries: queries_after.sql
warmup_iterations: 5
iterations: 100
concurrency: 4by @REDKARASIK
