@github-actions github-actions released this 11 Oct 20:45

Rustypaper 0.2.2 adds standalone downloads and the full command line interface to the Python package.

  • Download prebuilt executables for Linux x86_64 and ARM64, macOS Intel and Apple Silicon, and Windows x86_64 from the assets below. No Rust compiler or Python installation is needed for these executables. Linux executables require glibc 2.35 or newer.
  • Install with cargo binstall rustypaper to download a prebuilt executable automatically.
  • Install or upgrade with pip install --upgrade rustypaper to get both the Python library and the rustypaper terminal command. python -m rustypaper is also supported.
  • Both command line entry points use the same Rust implementation, including conversion formats, batch output, figure extraction, compression, and diagnostics.

The release workflow tests extracted executables and installed Python wheels on all five platform targets before publishing. Download SHA256SUMS to verify the standalone archives.

pip install --upgrade rustypaper
rustypaper convert paper.pdf
python -m rustypaper convert paper.pdf

Addresses #1, implemented in #3.

This patch prevents neighboring prose columns from interleaving when a ragged line enters a sparsely detected gutter. Mathematical terms retain the stricter separation rule.

Original PDF fixtures now run in the mandatory Python test suite. Complete paragraph recovery on the new two-column fixture improves from 6 of 9 to 9 of 9, with no regressions against the existing corpus quality baseline.

The release includes the Rust crate, five Python platform wheels, and a source distribution. The release dry run and all platform builds passed. A clean Linux environment verified imports, complete paragraphs, and consistent Markdown and structured conversion views.

Two-column title separation and section ordering remain documented limitations.
