Fixed

• Accented and other non-ASCII characters now work everywhere text crosses between a dialog and the document: Find and Replace, Modify Lines, Enclose Selection, Insert Tag, Run Command, and the clipboard. Search strings keep their characters when a file is opened after they were typed, and across sessions.
• Find and Replace accept up to 500 characters, as Notepad2 on Windows does. Before, long searches containing accented or box-drawing characters were cut short without warning.
• Closing Notepad2 with unsaved changes now always asks: Alt+F4, the title-bar close button, the system menu's Close, and system shutdown. Choosing Cancel keeps it running. Before, only File > Exit asked.
• Saving a new document that has never been saved before writes its accented characters correctly.
• Search strings saved by 0.1 and 0.1.1 are read correctly.
• Code folding works.
• Printing works, measured on a PostScript printer: page ranges, copies, the editor's font, and accented text.

New

• The application has an icon, designed by David Graser.

Not seen working yet

• Printing a new, never-saved document that contains accented letters.
• A window position saved in one video mode and restored in another, and Always On Top.
• Printing to anything but PostScript.

Known issues

• A byte that has no meaning in the text's code page can make a conversion stop early, and the text after it can be lost. Seen only in constructed cases, not in normal files.
• A new document starts in the encoding of the last file you had open, not in a fixed default.

Install

Unzip anywhere and run np2.exe. Needs LIBCN0.DLL, GCC1.DLL and STDCPP6.DLL (yum install libc libgcc libstdc++). Tested on OS/2 Warp Server for e-business 4.5.
