WinSitch 0.1.2

Choose a tag to compare

@phalladar phalladar released this 12 Jul 12:47

What's new in 0.1.2

  • Esc cancels a capture. Pressing Escape now cleanly exits the capture overlay without grabbing anything — a single press, from any point in the selection.
  • Settings in the editor toolbar. A new gear button in the top toolbar opens Settings, right where you're working — no need to go back to the tray icon.
  • Multi-capture tabs. Take another shot with New Capture and it opens as a tab in the same editor window. Ctrl+W or middle-click closes a tab, and each unsaved tab gets its own save prompt. A single capture looks exactly as before.
  • Refined the Arrow tool icon.

Every capture still copies to the clipboard automatically (toggle in Settings ▸ Capture).

Download

Grab WinSitch.exe below — one self-contained ~86 MB file, no installer, no .NET runtime to install. Run it and it lives in your system tray.

Windows SmartScreen may warn on first run (the build is unsigned). Choose More info → Run anyway.

@phalladar phalladar released this 11 Jul 17:25

Fixes the silent first-run experience and adds window-size memory.

⬇️ Install

Download WinSitch.exe below and run it — a single self-contained file, no installer, no .NET required. Press Ctrl+Alt+4 (configurable) to capture.

SmartScreen note: this build is unsigned; choose More info → Run anyway on first launch.

SHA256(WinSitch.exe) = 3412A8E4C5169125626CD9F2B575781E72FD24B68821712AF336F032A44CAD13

What's new in 0.1.1

  • First-run welcome window — a fresh install now greets you with the hotkey and where to find the tray icon (Windows 11 hides new tray icons in the ^ overflow — the welcome tells you)
  • "Already running" toast — launching the exe while WinSitch is running now says so instead of silently exiting
  • Editor windows remember their size — reopens with the dimensions you last closed with; the capture shows at 100% when it fits, otherwise zooms to fit
  • Every capture is copied to the clipboard automatically (on by default, configurable)

Full feature list: see v0.1.0 and the README.
