Game covers load instantly instead of being fetched over and over.
- Covers are now kept on your computer. Every time you opened a screen
with artwork, every cover was read from the PS5 again — about 290 KB per
game, so roughly 6.5 MB for a 23-game library, every single visit. They
are stored locally now and reused. A repeat view is around 2.5x faster,
and re-checking a cover that has not changed transfers nothing at all. - Games with no cover stop costing anything. The app remembers that a
title has no artwork instead of asking the console again on every screen. - Nothing is kept forever. Covers refresh on their own after a day, and
a console's artwork is cleared the moment you install or uninstall a game
on it, so you never see a cover for something that is no longer there. - Settings → Cached artwork shows how much space it is using, with a
button to clear it. "Reset PS5Upload" already removed it too. - Covers cached for one PS5 are never shown for another.
