An update that silently does nothing is now reported as a failure, and tells you how to fix it.

• The PS5 could accept an update and then discard it. The console returned
  success, ps5upload believed it, and the game stayed on its old version with
  nothing to explain why. That is the "base game installs but the update fails"
  problem people have been reporting. ps5upload now checks the game's version
  after an update and, if it did not move, says so instead of claiming success.

• And it tells you the fix. It happens when the console cannot match the
  update to the base game you have installed: it reports success and copies
  nothing. Installing the matching base package through ps5upload (choose
  Override) and then applying the update makes it work. That is now the message
  you get, in every language the app speaks.

  Verified on a console: the same update did nothing at all over the base game
  that was already there, and applied in about two and a half minutes after the
  base was re-installed from its matching package — same console, same
  firmware, same storage.

• You are warned before it can happen. When you install an update for a game
  whose base package did not come from ps5upload, you now get a heads-up first,
  with the fix, instead of finding out afterwards. It is a warning, not a block:
  it means the update may not apply, not that it will fail.

• A re-installed update is not mistaken for a failure. The console removes
  the old update before putting the new one in place, so for a minute or two a
  game legitimately looks like it has gone backwards. ps5upload waits that out
  rather than reporting a problem that is not there.

• Verified end to end on two consoles from a clean slate — base game, update
  and three DLC, on both an older and a newer firmware, installing to internal
  storage and to an M.2.
