A big .rar that fills your PC's disk now says so — before it wastes your time.

  • Uploading a large .rar no longer fails five minutes in with "Write
    error".
A .rar is extracted on your PC before being sent, and a big
game can need far more free space than people expect — one 180 GB game
needed 180 GB of temporary space on top of the archive itself. ps5upload
now checks before it starts, and if there isn't room it says how much is
needed, how much you have, and what to do about it. If a disk fills up
part-way anyway, the error now names the real cause instead of just
    saying "Write error".
  • A failed upload no longer leaves tens of GB behind. On Windows the
temporary folder sometimes couldn't be deleted because a file was still
in use, silently keeping the space. It now retries, and if it still
can't, it tells you the folder to delete.
  • The helper's log no longer drowns out its own errors. Routine
connection checks were each writing an error line — over 8,000 identical
lines in one report, which pushed out every genuinely useful message.
Those are now silent; real truncated transfers are still logged.
  • Log lines from different parts of the helper no longer get spliced
    together into unreadable text.
