The helper no longer drops the connection a few seconds after you start it,
installing straight from a link works, and you can now install directly from a
network share.
- Fixed: "connects, then disconnects as soon as I click anything." When
the PS5 returned an unusual network error, the helper quietly stopped
accepting connections while still running — so the app showed it as gone
until you started it again. It now recovers on its own and keeps going. This
affected every recent version, not just the newest ones. - "Let the PS5 download it" now works. It wasn't starting the PS5's
installer service first, it said "sent" even when the PS5 had refused the
link, and the PS5 can't take links longer than 127 characters — which most
library links are. All three are fixed: a long link now goes through a short
address on this computer (keep ps5upload open until the PS5 finishes). - New: install straight from an SMB / network share. Pick a package in the
SMB browser and choose Install on PS5 — it streams from the share into the
PS5, with nothing copied to your computer or the console first. - Better bug reports when the helper keeps dying. They now include the
helper's own logs even if it crashed just before the report was made, and
say which step it stopped responding on. - Android: the bottom tabs are no longer hidden behind the gesture bar.
