First release of Polymesh — a glTF 2.0 model rendering library for Minecraft Forge/NeoForge 1.20.1.

Which jar do I need?

Jar Who it's for
polymesh-1.0.0-forge.jar Players / modpacks — drop in the mods folder. Bundles jgltf + Jackson; nothing else to install.
polymesh-1.0.0-dev.jar Mod developers — dev-environment dependency (official mappings, not reobfuscated).
polymesh-1.0.0-sources.jar Source attachment for IDEs.

Features

  • Static and animated/skinned glTF item, entity, and block-entity rendering (GPU-buffered, CPU fallback)
  • .gltf + .glb, embedded and external textures
  • Animation crossfades, speed control (incl. reverse), bone overrides, look-at aiming
  • Morph targets / Blender shape keys, named lookup via mesh.extras.targetNames
  • Distance-based LOD and max-render-distance culling for entities/block entities
  • glTF extras metadata exposed for gameplay code
  • Automatic Iris/Oculus shader-pack compatibility

Getting started

Read the developer guide — asset layout, item/entity registration, the full GltfRenderOptions reference, LOD schema, animation API, and troubleshooting.

Known limitations

  • Emissive material data is parsed and exposed but not yet rendered by the built-in renderers.
